'The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers' (PS2) On Its Way To Stores

Electronic Arts announced today the North American release of The Lord of the Rings, The Two Towers video game for the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system and revealed plans to bring this highly-anticipated title to the Xbox video game system from Microsoft and Nintendo GameCube later this year. The Nintendo Game Boy Advance version will ship on Tuesday, November 12.

Comic Book For 'Batman: Dark Tomorrow'

'Lara Croft' Christmas Deadline Race

Telegraph UK reports that Eidos, the computer games designer, is in last-ditch talks with Sony to meet the November launch date of its latest Lara Croft game for the PlayStation 2. Delaying the high-profile launch - ahead of the vital Christmas trading period - would be a serious blow for Eidos. However, with just four weeks to go, it is understood that Eidos has yet to submit the game to Sony Computer Entertainment for approval. That process usually takes between three and four weeks. Even a week's delay could be damaging for Eidos. In the US, the Thanksgiving weekend of November 29 to 31 is a particularly important selling period.

'Battlefield: 1942' - Patch Update

The official Battlefield: 1942 web site has posted up another of their weekly updates concerning the upcoming 1.2 patch for Digital Illusions and Electronic Arts' best selling WWII multiplayer shooter. While there is still no word on a release date for the patch, they did say that improvements in the game's client prediction will have to wait for another patch down the road (thanks Homelan).

Several Game Patches Available NOW

Codemasters has released a new patch for Prisoner of War, if you are running WinMe or Win98 then get this update off the Codemasters downloads page. It address a problem with the wrong language chosen by the launcher and a problem where the launcher may start minimized. There is also a Privateer's Bounty patch available, updating the game to v1.04.151. This upgrade addresses improves multiplayer stability, a couple of bugs, damaged system and long distance views of the models. A few weeks after the English patch, there is now a German patch for Ghost Recon, likewise updating this edition of the squad-based tactical shooter by Red Storm Entertainment to version 1.3. As before, this release adds a huge number of changes, including gameplay, graphics, AI, editor and multiplayer improvements and fixes.
