Atari today posted a wider quarterly loss, as sales fell 44 percent mainly due to it releasing fewer titles amid a transition to new video game console technology. Net loss for the quarter was $25.2M, compared to a net loss of $16.9M at this time last year. Midway today announced that it has shipped Ed, Edd n Eddy: The Mis-Edventures for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, Nintendo GameCube, and Game Boy Advance. The PC version will ship in November. Based on the Cartoon Network show, Ed, Edd n Eddy is a tag-team adventure game in which players are able to switch Eds on the fly to take advantage of their special abilities.

Majesco Unveils 2005 Holiday Lineup

Nintendo Licenses Writing Recognition Technology

Canadian software maker Zi Corp. said today that it has signed a licensing deal for its Decuma handwriting recognition technology with Japan's Nintendo. Nintendo developers can use Zi's technology while creating software for the Nintendo DS.

More X360 CPU Details Revealed

International Business Corp. today revealed details of the microprocessor that powers the Microsoft's Xbox 360. The IBM-built chip features three customized PowerPC computing engines that can each handle two simultaneous tasks at clock speeds greater than 3 gigahertz.
