March Video Game Sales Predicted to Drop 18%

Analysts Michael Pachter and Edward Woo from investment house Wedbush Morgan Securities have released their NPD preview for the month of March. Woo and Pachter predict that the console transition continues to wear on publishers, as they expect console video game sales to drop 18% compared to the same period last year

Fireglow team is now developing a next generation game engine (codename: Sudden Strike Next7) and the first game based on this engine, which now is officially named 'Sudden Strike III: Arms For Victory'. Fireglow plans to develop several other games based on this engine in different setups related to war conflicts.

Eidos has released the fist patch bringing your retail game to v1.2, but no details as to what it fixes are available at the moment.

'Archie's Riverdale Run' (PS2/Xbox/PC) Announced

FXLabs Studios announced today it has signed an exclusive agreement with Archie Comics Entertainment for the development of the very first videogame based on the Archie universe. Under the working title Archie's Riverdale Run, the FXLabs team has begun the development of the game to be featured on the PC and consoles and is expected to be completed sometime in 2007.

THQ has signed a worldwide publishing agreement with Gas Powered Games for its RTS game Supreme Commander. Chris Taylor is known for his work with Total Annihilation under Cave Dog, and Supreme Commander will mark his return to a genre that he helped popularize.
