Battling as one of three factions (US, German or the League of Free Nations) players must control a naval fleet of destroyers, submarines, battleships or cruisers. As a flagship launch-title, the original Destruction Derby was a powerful demonstration of PlayStation gaming values. Liberating, cathartic and (for its time!) brutally realistic, it freed gamers from the restrictions associated with traditional driving games. Subsequent sequels performed well and added numerous features; total Destruction Derby sales now total 3 million +!! However, by the third incarnation it became clear that the limitations of the PSX were restricting the improvement of the franchise's basic game proposition.

Dutch publisher Project Three Interactive today announced that its development studio Termite Games has changed its name to Project Three Interactive Studios AB and is now fully integrated in the Project Three Group. The Swedish outfit became known for its revolutionary new game-engine known as DVA, which was used for the development of the tactical FPS game “NEW WORLD ORDER” for PC, released during winter 2002/spring 2003. Termite kept updating the game and has concluded its work by delivering the very stable and smooth version 1.42 last month (on sale in the UK, France and Germany by the end of August distributed by Bigben Interactive).
