Ubi Soft Entertainment announced an agreement to extend its partnership with Cyan Worlds, Inc. to develop and publish new games for the Myst franchise through 2008. The deal ensures that Rand Miller, co-creator of Myst and founder of Cyan Worlds, Inc., will continue to play a central role in helping Ubi Soft develop the Myst series. It also furthers Ubi Soft’s ability to produce and market games for a wide audience.

Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell will release in time for the lucrative Christmas 2002 market exclusively on Xbox, with a PC version to appear by the end of the year. Xbox is the lead development platform for the game, which has been designed to take full advantage of the advanced graphics and sound capabilities of Xbox. LucasArts is pleased to announce that Star Wars: The Clone Wars for GameCube has been approved for manufacturing and is expected to be in stores on October 29th. In Star Wars: The Clone Wars players take on the roles of Anakin Skywalker, Mace Windu, and Obi-Wan Kenobi as they lead the Republic army in the Clone Wars, all in the hopes of stopping the Separatists from assembling an ancient Sith weapon. The game gives players control over five crafts, as well as the ability to battle through 16 missions spanning six worlds from the Star Wars universe.
