Midway Ships 'Defender' For PS2

Midway Games Inc. announced today that Defender, an all-new 3-D version of the popular 1980s arcade classic, has shipped for the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system. Defender is scheduled to ship for the Xbox video game system from Microsoft, Nintendo GameCube and the Game Boy Advance on Nov. 4, 2002.

THQ Inc. today announced that "Toxic Grind," the first story-driven, mission-based BMX game, has shipped exclusively for the Xbox video game system from Microsoft. "Toxic Grind" immerses players in a completely unique, story-driven experience, where they must "ride for their life" as fictional BMX rider Jason Hayes. "Toxic Grind" is now available at major retail outlets nationwide.

Comic Book For 'Batman: Dark Tomorrow'

Japan-based videogame publishing powerhouse Kemco and comic book giant DC Comics announced together that they will create a limited edition, two-part comic book that will serve as a prequel to the storyline of Kemco's upcoming action/adventure title, "Batman: Dark Tomorrow." The first of two collectible comic books will be included as a pack-in within top-tier platform-specific enthusiast publications, distributing over 1.4 million comic books nationwide.

The Elder Scrolls III: Tribunal, is an expansion pack for the critically acclaimed and multi-award winning RPG, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind for PC. Tribunal will introduce additional content and features, and adventures into the already staggering game world of Morrowind. The Elder Scrolls III: Tribunal will be released in Europe this November in an English language version, with localized French and German versions following in early 2003.

'Lara Croft' Christmas Deadline Race

Telegraph UK reports that Eidos, the computer games designer, is in last-ditch talks with Sony to meet the November launch date of its latest Lara Croft game for the PlayStation 2. Delaying the high-profile launch - ahead of the vital Christmas trading period - would be a serious blow for Eidos. However, with just four weeks to go, it is understood that Eidos has yet to submit the game to Sony Computer Entertainment for approval. That process usually takes between three and four weeks. Even a week's delay could be damaging for Eidos. In the US, the Thanksgiving weekend of November 29 to 31 is a particularly important selling period.

'New World Order' GOLD Next Week

We just got informed that New World Order, the tactical FPS in development at Termite Games will be GOLD next week and is scheduled for a November 15th release in Europe and Asia, while US date is set in January 2003. 'X-Men: Wolverine’s Revenge' Announced For PC/GBA

Expanding the reach of Wolverine’s razor sharp adamantium claws, Activision, Inc. announced today that X-Men: Wolverine’s Revenge is headed to the Nintendo Game Boy Advance and PC. With the addition of these two versions, the game will be released on five platforms simultaneously with the upcoming X-Men feature film entitled “X2.” X-Men: Wolverine’s Revenge is also in development for the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox video game system from Microsoft and Nintendo GameCube and is the only action-adventure game that allows players to assume the role of Wolverine, the ultimate fighting X-Man.
