Ubi Soft Scoops 4 'Best of ECTS Show' Awards

Ubi Soft Entertainment today proudly announces a series of awards won by multiple games presented at this year's ECTS trade show in Earls Court, London.

Ubi Soft's soon-to-be-released XIII picked up two awards including Overall Best Game of the Show and Best Console Game of the Show. Other award winners are Far Cry, for Best PC Game of the Show and EverQuest II for Best Online Game of the Show.

'Chrome' - Revamped Website

A few days ago the official Chrome website www.chromethegame.com got a new design. The website has a new, lighter, and more appealing layout. They also added new sections dedicated to player’s clans, Chrometeam, and game’s editor ChromeEd. While creating the website, they also took into consideration players with slower internet connection.

EA To Develop Titles For Nokia N-Gage Mobile Game Deck

Nokia today announced an agreement with Electronic Arts (EA) to deliver select EA titles for the highly anticipated Nokia N-Gage platform. Beginning this year for the holiday season, EA will deliver some of its leading game titles for the Nokia N-Gage, the world's first mobile and connected game deck that will be available globally on October 7, 2003.

'Care Bears: Care-a-lot Jamboree' - Announced

ValuSoft, a division of THQ today announced the release of Care Bears: Care-a-lot Jamboree for PC and Mac. The game was created under a licensing agreement with American Greetings to develop computer games based on the ever-popular Care Bears. The deal was brokered on behalf of American Greetings by The Joester Loria Group, the exclusive worldwide licensing agency for Care Bears. Care Bears: Care-a-lot Jamboree is rated "E" for Everyone and will be available at retailers nationwide for $19.99 SRP.

'Plague of Darkness' (PS2/Xbox) Announced - Screens

Namco Hometek Inc. promises intense, nonstop action in its newest thriller, Plague of Darkness (tentative title), announced today. Scheduled for release on the PlayStation2 and the Xbox, Plague of Darkness will ship in the summer of 2004. Developed by Widescreen Games in Lyon, France, Plague of Darkness will feature Xbox Live functionality, complete with downloadable content, as well as PlayStation2 online support with exclusive extras. 'Resident Evil Outbreak' (PS2) - Screens

Resident Evil Outbreak retains the signature Resident Evil storytelling, visuals, and bone-chilling audio that Capcom's survival-horror fans demand. The game introduces an all-new story, an assortment of new characters, and a large number of non-player characters (NPC's). Scenarios are generated for the player by the game with storylines branching off in new directions based on decisions made. Players can enjoy each character's own storyline, as well as communicate with others.

NCsoft To Establish Joint Venture In Taiwan

NCsoft Corporation has unveiled plans to establish a joint venture, NC Taiwan, with Taiwan's leading game distributor, Gamania. The announcement came during a joint press conference held in Taipei, Taiwan. One of the first products to be distributed by the new venture will be NCsoft's highly anticipated Lineage II. Officials indicated plans to launch beta services for Lineage II in Taiwan by the fourth quarter of this year.
