Activision Signs Legendary Comic Book Writer Stan Lee

Activision today announced that the company has retained legendary comic book writer Stan Lee as a consultant for the development of future video games based on Marvel characters. Lee will work closely with Activision's studio divisions during the production process and consult on game design, as well as story and character development. Lee, who invented the modern Super Hero when he introduced such popular comic book characters as Spider-Man, the Uncanny X-Men and Fantastic Four, will bring a rare combination of expert character creation and storytelling knowledge to Activision's Marvel- themed video games.

'RoadKill' Features Unique Wide-Ranging Radio System (PS2/XB/NGC)

Midway Games announced today that a wide-ranging radio system will be implemented in RoadKill, a mission-based, post-apocalyptic combat driving game, which is scheduled to ship in October 2003 for the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox video game system from Microsoft and Nintendo GameCube.

Rockstar Games, the world-renowned publishing division of Take-Two Interactive Software announced today that it plans to ship the award-winning Grand Theft Auto 3 and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City as a "double pack" for both the PlayStation2 and the Xbox. The Grand Theft Auto "double pack" is set to hit shelves in North America on October 22, 2003 for PlayStation2 and on November 4, 2003 for Xbox.

TDK To Be Acquired By Take-Two Interactive

Take-Two Interactive Software and TDK Mediactive announced an agreement today pursuant to which Take-Two will acquire all shares of outstanding common stock of TDK Mediactive. Under the terms of the agreement, Take-Two will purchase TDK Mediactive for approximately $22.7 million, consisting of (1) $0.55 per share for each of the 23,005,885 shares outstanding (approximately $12.6 million); (2) purchase of debt of approximately $9.9 million ($1.9 million in cash and $8 million in restricted shares of common stock of Take-Two, or approximately 270,000 shares); and (3) approximately $0.2 million to retire outstanding stock options.

The game gives skateboarding a magical new twist. For the first time ever, kids can skate as their favorite characters from the imaginative worlds of Walt Disney Pictures' presentation of a Pixar Animation Studios' film "Toy Story 2," Disney's "Tarzan" and "The Lion King." Powered by the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 engine technology, the game includes a Create-A-Skater option where players can customize a youthful skater's "look" by selecting clothing and accessories. Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure is rated "E" ("Everyone" -- content suitable for persons ages 6 and older) by the ESRB and is available now for a suggested price of $39.99 on the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system, the Xbox video game system from Microsoft and Nintendo GameCube and for $29.99 on the Game Boy Advance.
