THQ has expanded its development agreement with tabletop game publisher Games Workshop, to not only make RTS titles based on the Warhammer 40,000 universe, but extend into the MMO market, according to this
GameSpot interview. Initial indications were that Relic would be taking on the project, but as it turns out Vigil Games will be taking on the task.

THQ and Relic Entertainment today announced that the second expansion pack in the Dawn of War franchise, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War -Dark Crusade, is currently in development. The game will feature two new playable races, the Tau Empire and the Necrons, bringing the number of totally unique races to an unprecedented seven.

product page on the THQ UK website reveals plans for a Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War: Gold Edition, not to be confused with the previously announced Game of the Year Edition. While the GotY version contains the original and several patches, and 4 new mp maps, the Gold Edition will not only include the aforementioned but also the upcoming Winter Assault expansion pack (
