LucasArts and BioWare announced that they have entered into an agreement to create an interactive entertainment product. The product, details of which will be unveiled at a later date, will push the boundaries of the gaming market by utilizing the strengths of both companies to deliver an innovative, high-quality experience.

LucasArts has released screens and trailers for the following upcoming titles:

• 'Fracture' (PS3/X360) - 7 New Screens
• 'LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga' (NDS/Wii/PS3/X360) - 15 New Screens
• 'Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron' (PSP) - 11 New Screens
• 'Star Wars: The Force Unleashed' (ALL) - 3 New Screens
• 'Thrillville: Off the Rails' (ALL) - Screens & Trailer

At the Hollywood and Games Summit, LucasArts head honcho Jim Ward confirmed earlier rumors that it is working on a lightsaber enabled game for the Wii, "internally we have already played a lightsaber game on the Wii. It’s a lot of fun, and we’ll get there." Whether this is in addition to the Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga was not clear, but the LucasArts will be having "some stuff out this Fall."

Loaded with dozens of minigames and a variety of music from leading artists, Traxion sucks you in as the music not only provides the soundtrack, but also changes the way the games are played! LucasArts confimedit will no longer publish Traxion, leaving the future of Kuju's music rhythm game in limbo. Whether or not another publisher will pick it up was not clear...

LucasArts today announced an agreement with Free Radical Design to develop a new video game for next-generation console platforms. Product and release details will be unveiled at a later date.

LucasArts signed an agreement with Day 1 Studios to develop a new IP for release on next-gen consoles with an emphasis on ground-breaking gameplay, and focused on interactivity.

LucasArts revealed its lineup of titles on display at this year's E3 in Los Angeles, Indiana Jones 2007, LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy, Star Wars Empire at War: Forces of Corruption and completely new intellectual properties such as Thrillville and Traxion.

A New York Times article covering the past, present and future of LucasArts, and its president Jim Ward, reveals that the company is working on a new title set in the Star Wars Universe. Although there are no plans for upcoming movies, there is still a vast untapped resource of material that can be used for games, and the NYT writer was privy to a demo of a yet unannounced game revolving around Darth Vader's history. No further details were disclosed, but with E3 around the corner, we will have all the latest details when we meet up with George Lucas' gang.

Several websites are passing along spurious internet rumors regarding Star Wars Galaxies, but LucasArts sent out notice earlier today saying these rumors are completely untrue. LucasArts and SOE have no plans to "sunset" Star Wars Galaxies. The two companies will continue to work together as partners in making Star Wars Galaxies the ultimate online Star Wars experience.

Earlier this month LucasArts & SOE announced new game enhancements for Star Wars Galaxies hoping to significantly improve the gameplay experience. However, if your Star Wars Galaxies account was in good standing as of November 3, 2005, you purchased the latest expansion pack, Trials of Obi- Wan prior to that date, and you find that these new enhancements are not to your liking, you may request a refund of the purchase price of the Trials of Obi-Wan expansion pack.

LucasArts Producer Julio Torres revealed today that the Star Wars Galaxies developers are going to gradually roll out an overhaul of its much-debated Star Wars-based MMO. In his community letter, Torres points out that user feedback has indicated the learning curve to be too steep for beginners and not enough immediate action, resulting in people leaving again. LucasArts today announced a new Indiana Jones video game, set for release on next-generation consoles in 2007, Star Wars Battlefront II for PSP this fall, in addition to previously unveiled PS2, Xbox, and PC versions.

LucasArts and Sony Online have made the joint decision to increase the investment in the game development team. LucasArts and SOE are adding more people to all parts of the development team including production, project management, programming, design, art, community and QA. LucasArts quitely put a notice on their website to announce that the Sam & Max sequel has been cancelled. "After careful evaluation of current market place realities and underlying economic considerations, we've decided that this was not the appropriate time to launch a graphic adventure on the PC" says Mike Nelson, Acting General Manager and VP of Finance and Operations. There is currently no plan to reduce staff.

LucasArts/Sony Online ent. dropped us a note that starting Tuesday January 20th, 2004 and ending February 2nd 2004, they are reactivating all old 'Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided' accounts giving people a chance to try out all the new content they have been adding since the launch of the MMORPG. LucasArts unleashes the wrath of the gods in the highly anticipated original title Wrath Unleashed, a brutal action game where mythological creatures roar to life in a spectacular and deadly fantasy world. Players engage each other in mighty battles in a struggle to gain dominion over vast magical islands, awesome beasts and enchanted temples. Wrath Unleashed is being developed in collaboration with The Collective, and is expected to release in winter 2003 for the PS2 and the Xbox. Read more for details and screens ...

Gamespot reports that LucasArts has opened up its E3 site, giving the public a glimpse of the games the company will be showing at the event this May. The strategy RPG Gladius is expected to be at the show, as are Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy and Star Wars Galaxies.

Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided is now entering the final phase of development, and everyone at LucasArts and Sony Online Entertainment is pleased with the game's progress since the beta test program was initiated. Although the game is making good progess LucasArts also says that "to deliver the best possible massively multiplayer experience and ensure stability and breadth of content, LucasArts and Sony Online Entertainment will delay the game's April 15 launch". This will enable us to invest more time into the beta program, and to solicit additional feedback from the tremendous fan base Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided has already developed.
