Today LucasArts announced a new initiative in its effort to revive its classic and beloved franchises by making its games available for the first time ever as digital downloads online on Steam. Starting Wed., July 8 you will be able to download classic adventure titles like LOOM and The Dig and hit action games including Star Wars Battlefront II and Star Wars Republic Commando.

Monkey Island announcements, it seems the once-adventure-focused publisher/developer is looking into reviving old classics. When it rains, it pours! Ever since Activision revealed it would not be renewing its ESA membership nor attending E3, several other companies announced they would not be attending (NCSoft, Foundation 9, Her Interactive), while others confirmed their presence (D3P, Warner Bros., Majesco, Bethesda, EA, etc.). One name still missing from either list was LucasArts, and today PR director Margaret Grohne announced that while LucasArts will no longer be an ESA member, it would still be attending the E3.
