THQ Inc. and Clear Channel Entertainment's Motor Sports division today announced that supercross series' title sponsor THQ unveiled MX Unleashed as the official video game of the 2004 THQ World Supercross GP/THQ AMA Supercross Series. The game is available for demonstration at several of the series events that began with the inaugural race earlier this year and includes this weekend at Edison International Field in Anaheim, California. Currently at development in critically acclaimed Rainbow Studios, MX Unleashed will be available for the PlayStation2 and Xbox in February 2004.

Linden Lab and The Game Initiative, an organization that supports game developers worldwide, today announced the Second Life Game Developer’s Competition designed for aspiring game developers. The competition begins January 31, 2004 and coincides with the Game Initiative’s “How To Break Into Video Game Industry: Mini-Conference and Resume Workshop” taking place on that day in San Francisco. Winners will be announced on June 14, 2004.

ESPN Videogames announced today that its highly anticipated baseball title, ESPN Major League Baseball, will incorporate broadband online play for both the PlayStation2 and the Xbox. This weekend, MTV is premiering a new show titled “Making the Game: NFL Street” which gives fans an early look at the latest EA SPORTS BIG branded title from Electronic Arts to set the street a-buzz. The show features exclusive behind the scenes access to the creative forces responsible for NFL Street, including the Tiburon (game development) team, street artists, musicians, athletes and more. The show airs on MTV this Friday, January 9th at 8pm with repeat airings on Sunday the 11th at 11:30pm and Friday the 16th at 1am. The show will also run on MTV2 at 9:30pm on Tuesday, January 13 with follow on shows at 8:30am on Thursday, January 15 and 7:30am Sunday, January 18. (All times are ET).
