Warthog today announces that it has acquired the American development studio, Fever Pitch, based in Austin, Texas. The business has been acquired for an initial consideration of £183,000 ($300,000) to be satisfied by the issue of 973,015 new ordinary Warthog shares (the "Initial Consideration Shares"). Further Warthog shares will be issued for each financial period up to 31 March 2005 dependent on Fever Pitch achieving annual pre-tax profits in excess of $100,000 for each financial period. The acquisition is immediately cash flow and earnings enhancing.

UK Based Independent Games developer Positech Computing announced today the release of their arcade/strategy game Planetary Defense. Planetary Defense puts you in charge of a variety of worlds, defending them against enemy attack. You have to defend against missiles, laser equipped satellites, cloaked starships, multiple-warhead rockets and flaming meteors, by guiding defensive missiles to their targets. On some levels you have multiple orbiting moons, complete with their own bases and space colonies, ships evacuating your planet to defend, and energy shields that keep the enemy rockets at bay. Sum of All Fears is a first-person shooter with the emphasis on actionis part of the Tom Clancy franchise. So, what will 2003 bring? Well, Eastside should see the light of day towards the end of the year, but there are a couple of other Sports Interactive products out before then...

The first will be the CM4 magazine (issue 2), and the demo for CM4. These will be released on Friday, February 14th.

The second will be Championship Manager 4. This is now looking hopeful for release on February 28th on PC & Mac in the UK, with non UK Eidos releases a few days later (Germany, France, Holland, Spain, South East Asia).
