Enigma: Rising Tide is an alternate history World War II naval battle game. The core project is a massively multiplayer game that may be extended to other platforms. Within a year, will be available as a Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG). Tesseraction is designing, creating, testing and releasing the MMOG game title using Intrinsic Alchemy. GMX Media picked up the distribution right for the offline version which is due in March 2003. The demo lets you take control of two vessels - an I-15 British Submarine and a British Flower Class Corvette. You can either take up the role of a sub-hunter or join a wolf pack and attack a convoy. The demo lets gamers play Devastation’s “Streetwar” (just like Deathmatch) and Capture the Flag game types over a LAN or online. It features two amazingly detailed environments, the Embarcadero Depot, and the abandoned Union Rail Yard. EA and DICE have released a new free map for Battlefield 1942. This totally unexpected announcement allows owners of Battlefield 1942 to download the new desert based map, Operation Aberdeen. Operation Aberdeen is the latest free map from DICE. It is an all armor battle set in the desert. BioWare has released the first public beta of the Neverwinter Nights Linux Client. They have set up a forum to discuss the client, an email address to use for feedback, and promise frequent updates to the beta. Word is this debut version (build: 1.29.6758 Beta 1) does not support chat or server browsing, but these will be in the next release. Installing the client will require game resources from an existing Windows installation and a CD-Key (thanks Bluesnews). Read more for download links and details on how to install.

3DO has released new patches for the North American versions of 'Heroes of Might and Magic IV' and its 'The Gathering Storm' expansion pack to v3.0. If you have the North American version of the Winds of War expansion you do NOT need any patch, as the retail version is already v3.0. Note that this is the for NA version only and users of other language versions of the game (including UK English) are warned not to use these patches or it will conclude in errors. Icculus has issued another updated dedicated Linux server for MoH: Allied Assault Spearhead, allowing Linux PCs to host multiplayer games for v2.15 of the World War II FPS expansion by EA. This is still in beta stage (v5) so not the final product and the developers encourage email support! It has been a while since the last America's Army patch but here it finally is. The game includes the first-person-perspective action game Operations, as well as Soldiers, the role-playing portion of America's Army in which players navigate life's challenges to achieve life goals. The new version contains an updated Unreal game engine, a new "Radio Tower" non-combatant rescue mission, better projectile penetration, incorporates ricochets and adds a large number of other additions, changes and bug fixes.
