Set in ancient Greece, God of War follows the battles of the warrior Kratos, who tackles mythological beasts including Medusa, Cyclops and the Hydra on his quest to find Pandora's Box and destroy Ares, the god of war. The movie script was written by David Self, known for Road to Perdition, and will be produced by Brett Ratner, known for the Rush Hour movies, X-Men, and various Prison Break episodes. There has no date been set to start shooting, let alone an estimated theatrical launch.

IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey is based around the large-scale aerial combat and ground military operations of WWII. Players can participate in some of the most famous battles piloting fighters, battle planes and heavy bombers across a range of 50+ missions.

Sony announced the launch of a new video delivery service in the U.S. for the PlayStation 3 and PSP systems. Consumers will have the ability to download full-length movies and television shows through the PlayStation Store on PlayStation Network. The service will offer nearly 300 full-length movies and more than 1,200 TV episodes.

In addition to revealing new content for over 20 previously announced, first-party software titles, SCEA gave attendees a look at over 10 never-before-seen titles, including PS3 titles God of War 3 and MAG, Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty for PlayStation Network and Resistance: Retribution for the PSP system.

At Sony's press briefing, they revealed that the 80GB model of the PlayStation 3 console will become available this Sept. and retail for $399. Sony also announced a Ratchet and Clank Size Matters PSP Entertainment Pack, a Lego Batman PlayStation 2 Pack, and the launch of a PS3 Greatest Hits program for PS3 this July.
