SCEA announced today the North American release of God of War, available exclusively for the PS2. Developed by SCEA's Santa Monica Studios, previously known for the Twisted Metal franchise, God of War is a single-player action-adventure game based on the dark brutal world of Greek mythology. In God of War, players take the role of an ex-Spartan warrior named Kratos and embark on a merciless quest to destroy Ares, the God of War.

THQ today announced the release of Full Spectrum Warrior for the PS2. Built for the legions of PS2 owners hungry for the critically acclaimed and highly successful game originally launched for the Xbox, the squad-based tactical action combat includes a number of game enhancements and features specific to the PS2 version - including an all-new level and Co-Op play for the two bonus levels originally available for the Xbox title.

Atari today announced that the first ever DBZ action-adventure game, Dragon Ball Z: Sagas has shipped to retail outlets nationwide. Akella announces the agreement with Ubisoft on publishing full localized version of Cold Fear by Darkworks in Russia and CIS. Cold Fear is the first action-horror title from Ubisoft. While the game shipped internationally earlier this month, no specific release date for the localized version has been set yet.

German publisher dtp announced today that City Interactive is working on an addon for its Terrorist Takedown action game, Payback. Scheduled for an April release, Terrorist Takedown: Payback is a standalone expansion pack in which the player once againtakes on the role of GIs fighting against terrorrism. Eidos said earlier this month that it had received an approach on March 2nd about a possible offer at 53 pence per share, and ever since, rumors have run rampant all over the web. Ubisoft was mentioned as a contender, and earlier today, reports stated that SCi had bought Eidos. None of it is true it seems, as it has now been confirmed that Eidos has agreed to a 71 million pounds ($135 million) cash offer from a unit of U.S. private equity company Elevation Partners LP. Interestingly enough, Elevation Partners is lead by people such as U2's Bono and former EA President John Riccitiello.
