Interplay and Vivendi Universal Games today announced the development of the sci-fi video game Run Like Hell for the Xbox video game system from Microsoft. This survival horror game previously released on the Sony PlayStation2 has been modified to take full advantage of the Xbox technology, including in game support of Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound to accompany the state-of-the art 3D environments. In addition to expanding the existing gameplay area, an exclusive new level has also been created, as well as downloadable content that will be available via Xbox Live. Run Like Hell for the Xbox will be available in the spring of 2003.

Microsoft Corp. today announced that the Xbox Live service, the first comprehensive, online game arena fully dedicated to fast-action broadband gaming experiences, has sold 150,000 Xbox Live Starter Kits. Because each Xbox Live account allows guest players, more than 200,000 players have already found their friends, talked trash, and started building their legends in the last week.
