Electronic Arts released the first version of the Battlecraft map editor for Digital Illusions' 3D action game Battlefield Vietnam. The editor shipped with the game but is now available as a separate download, and this initial release similarly includes a full set of Object Lightmap templates. At the same token EA has also released a new version of the Battlecraft 1942 editor v2.1 which now incorporates the Object Lightmap templates that used to be a separate download, as well as adding several dozen new features, improvements, bug fixes and other changes (

Purge Jihad 2.0.3. Purge Jihad 2.0.3 fixes several map exploits. Other changes include improvements in skills, UI, prayers, weapons, and player requested gameplay changes. Using ESD (Electronic Software Distribution), Purge Jihad is offered in both a free (unregistered) and paid (registered) mode. The free, unregistered trial includes the full game without any time limits but is simply limited to 4 classes. Registered players will have access to all 8 classes.

CCP, in cooperation with IGN/GameSpy, is offering Earth and Beyond users an upgrade to EVE Online. This is a response to the high number of inquires and downloads CCP has received during the last 48 hours from Earth and Beyond users. These users have been forced to look elsewhere for an alternative Science Fiction Online Game after Electronic Arts announced it would close down Earth and Beyond at the end of summer.

After it was released & yanked a few weeks ago, Sierra has re-released the v1.1 update patch for Lords Of The Realm 3 addressing a couple of game crashes, applies a few multiplayer lobby enhancements, and fixes over a dozen gameplay bugs. They have also released the Castle Editor for Impressions Games' 3D RTS Lords of the Realm III which can be used to make custom castle for use with the game. FarCry HQ that the scheduled 3rd Far Cry demo (the "Boat" demo, meant to be released today) has been postponed and that a multiplayer demo will be made available after the game's official store release. At the same token Crytek head honcho Cevat Yerli revealed that they are already working on a patch. No surprise there right?

A couple weeks ago Activision released a
Call Of Duty v1.3 beta patch, and today they brought us up to speed by means of a new
"communique". Apparently next week we can expect the full patch which, apart from the fixes in the beta version, will also feature 2 new multiplayer maps (Neuville and Bocage), as well as server browser enhancements, sniper rifle scope fixes and cheat exploits. Forgotten Hope Beta 0.6 is about 60% complete and features a huge number of planes, tanks and battleships - not only beautifully modelled, but also simulated in a very realistic way. To top it all off there is a choice of new maps as well. The FH Mod team has released a new patch bringing their BF1942 mod to v0.61 (they initially released 0.6, but a few bugs crept in so they immediately issued a 0.61 fix). You HAVE to delete FH0.5 before installing this version. Now sit back & relax, this download is HUGE (you NEED all 3 files!).
