Championship Manager 4 has smashed all records for UK PC game sales, having generated retail sales of 124,627 in its first week of release, according to the official UK chart organisation Chart-Track. This more than doubles the sales achieved by the previous PC best-seller, Championship Manager: Season 01/02. This phenomenal performance has also propelled CM4 into the top three of Chart-Track's 'All-Formats' fastest-seller list, with only the two PlayStation 2 smash hits, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and The Getaway, standing above it.

Mindware Studios has completed its first demo for Cold War and will soon be seeking a publisher for the game during the next few months. Cold War will put the player in the role of Matt Carter, an American reporter caught in a web of intrigue and conspiracy in the Soviet Union during the 80's. The game will emphasize stealth (much like IGI2 and other recent tactical shooters), and will take you to Eastern European historical settings such as the Red Square, Chernobyl and Baikonur. The WarBirds team will launch the official download of the PTO theater on Wednesday, 2 April. This is the fruit of their last three months of labor, and will include a new PTO terrain, five new aircraft (and variants), two new ground vehicles, a few new or improved cockpits for existing aircraft, and a new strategic resupply system in addition to many bug fixes and other improvements.. Though the update becomes official on Wednesday, they will upload it to some mirror sites earlier in the week to give everyone a chance to grab the download prior to release. Discreet, a division of Autodesk, Inc. announced today that Ubi Soft Entertainment has joined the growing number of leading development studios to adopt and standardize their animation, modeling and rendering tools based on Discreet's 3D technology solutions. Ubi Soft has agreed to upgrade existing licenses as part of its game development program to utilize Discreet 3ds max software throughout its European development studios, which encompasses over 200 animation software licenses. The agreement between Ubi Soft and Discreet represents the biggest European 3D software partnership to date, and follows the recent decision from Ubi Soft Canada to also purchase licenses for its Montreal-based development studio.
