Ubi Soft Entertainment announced an agreement to extend its partnership with Cyan Worlds, Inc. to develop and publish new games for the Myst franchise through 2008. The deal ensures that Rand Miller, co-creator of Myst and founder of Cyan Worlds, Inc., will continue to play a central role in helping Ubi Soft develop the Myst series. It also furthers Ubi Soft’s ability to produce and market games for a wide audience.

Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell will release in time for the lucrative Christmas 2002 market exclusively on Xbox, with a PC version to appear by the end of the year. Electronic Arts posted an all-new video showcasing the PS2 version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003 earlier today. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2003 shows off 14 courses spanning six of the world’s most well known courses (Pebble Beach Golf Links, Tournament Players Club at Sawgrass, The Royal Birkdale Golf Club, Princeville, Torrey Pines, Poppy Hills, Spyglass Hill and Tournament Players Club at Scottsdale), a selection of 17 PGA Tour professional golfers, and an all-new gameplay mode called ‘Play Now’, a mode in which players are faced with 18 competitive scenarios. Microsoft Game Studios today announced that Combat Flight Simulator 3: Battle for Europe has gone gold and is scheduled to ship to stores in North America on October 24. Combat pilots will soon have the opportunity to fly in the historical framework of the tactical air war in northwest Europe starting in mid-1943, but with a significant difference: The skill and perseverance that pilots and their squadron or Staffel bring to each battle can alter the tactical situation and the timeline of the campaign. This open-ended dynamic campaign engine allows pilots to influence events and the front line. If they can persevere in the war, squadrons can even add new technology to their arsenal.
