A microchip project between Sony, Toshiba and IBM, which aims to create a powerful processor for home electronics, could be a clue to Sony's plans for gaming in the future.. "It's possible PlayStation 3 would come out in 2005, since that's when Sony's cell project will yield something," said Kazuharu Miura, an analyst at Daiwa Institute of Research Ltd. More about it..

Interplay Entertainment Corp. and Vivendi Universal Games announced today that Interplay's highly anticipated game Run Like Hell has gone gold. The game for PlayStation2 is scheduled to be available at retail in early October and will be distributed by Vivendi Universal Games.
