Today it was decided that the long awaited Swedish gaming exhibition "Gamex" is delayed to next year, but the conference and trade event "NIME:02" will continue as planned in October. The future for NIME looks bright, and over 40 people from the best game developers, publishers and mobile companies are already confirmed to speak in the conference. However, if you're not directly working in the games business, you can still buy a conference pass to access the conference and trade expo. But you have to be atleast 18 years old to enter the show.

Trecision S.p.A has started the development of a title for PS2 and PC starring Popeye, the world renown sailor created in 1929 by Elzie Segar. Popeye’s adventures are enjoyed by millions of fans world-wide, both young and adults. The game will be published in 2003 by French company Cryo.

Contest of Champions' module from BioWare's RPG is now available for download. This module is designed to allow a group of players to jump into combat against each other on up to for 4 different teams. Anything goes within the two different battle arenas. The last team standing at the end of combat wins the round.

Activision just send us a note that Raven Software is in the process of cooking up an update patch for their recently released first-person shooter, "Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix". Phantagram Interactive announced today that it will develop and publish a Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG) based on "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon." Set to release in Q4 of 2004, the game will shift the paradigm in MMOG as the game play will focus on fast-paced, Kung-Fu-style fighting with a deep storyline to immerse players in the world of the "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon." "We are very excited to bring this unique property to life in the form of a MMOG that will redefine the genre," said Sangyoun Lee, Chairman and CEO of Phantagram Interactive.
