It seems that Eidos means business these days, as not only is it working on high-profile titles like Deus Ex 3, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Just Cause 2 and the just-announced
Thief 4, but CEO Ian Livingstone revealed in
a recent interview that it is also planning on releasing a new installment in the popular Hitman series (developed by IO Interactive as usual) and, oddly enough, a sequel to the not-so-well-received Kane & Lynch.

Eidos confirmed today that production on the Hitman movie commenced on March 27 and will continue in and around the Bulgarian capital of Sofia for 12 weeks before moving on to locations in South Africa, St. Petersburg and London. Timothy Olyphant (Deadwood) stars as Agent 47 and Dougray Scott (MI: II) portrays the antagonist.

Last year, it was reported that Vin Diesel would be starring in "Hitman: The Movie," but according to
Ain't it Cool, he is no longer on the project and has been replaced by Deadwood's Timothy Olyphant ("Seth Bullock"). Luc Besson signed on to co-produce, along with Chuck Gordon, Adrian Askarieh and Daniel Alter. With a script penned by Swordfish's Skip Woods, the 20th Century Fox movie is tentatively scheduled for Fall 2007.

SCi announced today that since its launch in April 2006 Tomb Raider Legend has sold over 2.9 million units on all formats, while Hitman Blood Money, launched in May 2006, so far has sold over 1.5 million units. Total Overdose, Conflict Global Storm, Commandos Strike Force, Rogue Trooper and Urban Chaos are all selling well, so SCi is confident of achieving the recently upgraded market expectations of a trading profit of approximately £25 million for the year ended 30th June 2006.

Now that IO interactive's latest title in the Hitman franchise has gone gold and is ready for prime time, Eidos will be releasing a demo for Hitman: Blood Money on Monday, May 22, at 9 a.m. PDT (6pm Euro time). The single-player demo will feature the first level of the game, where you, as Agent 47, need to locate a target in a theme park-turned-drug lab. We will, of course, have the demo available on
