'Monopoly Live' Launched

To celebrate the iconic game's 70th anniversary, the makers of Monopoly are giving fans the chance to do just this with the creation of an online version of the nation's favourite board game. Monopoly Live uses London as a real-life playing board, and the capital's taxis as 'real time' playing pieces. Players will also get the chance to win for top prizes including the chance to get their mortgage or rent paid for an entire year.

'War In The Pacific' - v1.60 Patch Available NOW

Matrix Games and 2 by 3 Games have released a new patch for their strategy game War In The Pacific. This update focuses on some 20 minor bug fixes and a multitude of subtle map changes to better mimic the War in the Pacific. Some of the more important items include fixes involving the capture of enemy bases, the loss of experience when replacing large numbers of soldiers in a unit, and unit all follow commands. Additionally, there are 41 map changes that more accurately depict the war.

'Yu-Gi-Oh!' US Finals Tournament

For the past few months, Konami searched the nation for the best Yu-Gi-Oh! players via an online contest that tested duelists' knowledge of the Yu-Gi-Oh! property. Winners from the Web contest will progress to the U.S. Finals, which will be held at the Konami America offices, located in Redwood City, Calif. on June 24th.

The fate of China once again hangs in the balance this week as video gamers finally get their chance to play the landmark 10th edition of KOEI's Romance of the Three Kingdoms game series. Monolith Axes 80 Employees

The Seattle Times is reporting that Monolith Productions is laying off 80 employees after transferring two of its game titles (Matrix Online and a yet to be announced DC Comics MMO) to Sony Online Entertainment. At least 25 of those employees have been offered jobs at Sony Online Entertainment's Bellevue office, about two miles away. After the layoffs Monolith still employs about 100 people and continues to develop F.E.A.R, for Vivendi, and Condemned: Criminal Origins for SEGA.
