TDK Mediactive, Inc.,a global publisher of entertainment software, and DreamWorks SKG announced plans today to feature the upcoming "Shrek" for Xbox video game system from Microsoft on the TDK Times Square video board for the launch of Xbox and until end of December 2001.

"Shrek" for Xbox has shipped November 6, 2001 and will be available at retail on Xbox launch day, November 15, 2001. The much-anticipated Xbox title ships on the heels of the record-breaking release of the home video and DVD of the computer-animated feature film "Shrek" from DreamWorks SKG. Launched on Friday, November 2, sales of "Shrek" on video and DVD topped $110M in its first weekend of release, establishing a new record for highest initial sales in home entertainment, previously held by "Star Wars: Episode 1."

"Time Square is the ideal place to display 'Shrek' for the Xbox and gives us the perfect opportunity to capture a wide consumer audience," said Vincent Bitteti, chief executive officer of TDK Mediactive. "We couldn't imagine a better location to show off 'Shrek' for the Xbox. This title combines the best of both worlds - popularity of the box office hit film and one of the most powerful consoles on the market."

With eye-catching graphics inspired by the movie, "Shrek" for the Xbox is positioned to be a breakout title for the holiday season. "Shrek" is rated "T" for Teen by the ESRB and retails at $49.99*.
