'Bad Day in L.A.' (XBox/PC) Soundtrack Revealed

by Rainier on Sept. 8, 2005 @ 7:36 p.m. PDT

Enlight Software secures NYC based music and record production company The Lodge to provide the soundtrack for Bad Day L.A., the highly anticipated American McGee title set to ship early 2006 for the Xbox and PC.

"Video games have become such a sophisticated medium of entertainment; we're looking forward to lending our talent to make Bad Day L.A. a hit," said Drew Stein, CEO of The Lodge. "The days of lackluster stock music libraries are officially over - gamers simply demand and expect a great music score. We think balancing original music with music supervision & licensing is where the future of video game music will be going to produce the most impact."

With offices in New York, London and Tokyo, The Lodge is home to over thirty composers, producers, engineers and sound designers. A truly creative force for both original scoring and music licensing, The Lodge has created memorable scores many of the world biggest brands including Hewlett Packard, McDonalds, EA Games, Mercedes, Coca Cola, Jaguar, Motorola, HBO, BMW, and many more. The Lodge is also at one the most well-known record production companies with album credits covering a wide range of groundbreaking artists from Platinum-sellers like David Bowie, Madonna, The Prodigy, Lou Reed, Garbage, John Mayer, Missy Elliot, Wu-tang Clan, Depeche Mode and Third Eye Blind to innovative Indies like Anna Nalick, All American Rejects, The Donnas, Sonic Youth, The Shins and Nada Surf.

"Today's gamers demand a level of quality that requires developers to seek out the very best in the industry," said American McGee. "The Lodge has clearly proven itself as a forerunner in both music and technology, making the company an ideal fit for our game. Bad Day L.A. is designed to be both edgy and heavily stylized, and we're excited to have The Lodge provide it with an equally inventive soundtrack."

American McGee Presents: Bad Day L.A. will plunge the player into a deep and comedic storyline that plays off the "fear culture" of modern America with a tongue-in-cheek comedic twist. Set in modern-day Los Angeles, Bad Day L.A. will satirize the City of Angels and disaster films while combining a fantastical art style and a heavy dose of dark satire. American McGee Presents: Bad Day L.A. will be released early 2006 for Xbox and PC.
