'F.E.A.R.: Extraction Point' Goes Gold

by Rainier on Oct. 20, 2006 @ 11:55 p.m. PDT

Producer Tim Hall revealed that Timegate's F.E.A.R.: Extraction Point expansion is fihnished and has gone gold. F.E.A.R. Extraction Point kicks off where the original game ended – with a bang. The First Encounter Assault Recon Team (F.E.A.R.) returns to battle the now free Alma and her paranormal minions across a destroyed city.

New locations, weaponry and enemies combine to take the F.E.A.R. franchise to new levels of action and suspense.

Developed by TimeGate Studios in conjunction with Monolith Productions, F.E.A.R. Extraction Point is an intense first person close-quarters combat experience that expands and continues the rich atmosphere and engaging, paranormal horror storyline first unleashed in F.E.A.R.

This gold process was relatively easy compared to other projects, I won’t mention names but I’ve seen things – terrible terrible things - appearing as GM builds, so this was a fairly stress free ending. I still always think that there should be a parade or something at the end of a project. After everyone jumping through hoops for a year to get a project done it would be nice to sit back and see some pink poodles doing the same thing while eating cotton candy.

It’s been a great experience working with team F.E.A.R. here in the Sierra office and with Timegate on this project. I’d like to sends thanks out to everyone who has worked so hard for the past year and we really hope you’ll enjoy Extraction Point as much as we do.

F.E.A.R. Extraction Point is planned to ship for PC during theOctober 24 2006.
