by Rainier on Jan. 12, 2007 @ 11:51 a.m. PST

Final Fantasy XII shakes the series to its core with the introduction of a unique new combat system, while still honoring the franchise's reputation for epic storytelling, incredible spectacle, and compelling characters.

John Yamamoto, President and CEO of Square Enix Ltd. comments, “The PAL launch of FINAL FANTASY XII is our biggest release since Square Enix started self publishing across Europe last year. The game has already received Edge magazine’s Best Game award for 2006, and with over 4 million copies already sold in other territories, we are looking forward to launching it to our fans in Europe and around the world.”

Enter an age where magic is commonplace and airships fill the skies, crowding out the heavens. A young orphan named Vaan dreams of escaping his life on the streets of

Rabanastre and piloting an airship of his own. Against the backdrop of the war engulfing the kingdom of Dalmasca, Vaan meets Princess Ashe, the sole surviving heir to the Dalmascan throne, long thought dead. Together, they will embark on an incredible journey through Ivalice. The choices they make will determine the very fate of the world.
