According to the last issue of Game Informer, Eidos is working on a new Batman game that's being developed by Rocksteady Studios, known for Urban Chaos: Riot Response, whose website has a countdown clock, presumably to the official announcement. Powered by the Unreal Engine 3, Batman: Arkham Asylum is a 3rd-person action game with a dark and gritty setting reminiscent of Bioshock. Sporting a story co-written by the producer of TV's Batman: The Animated Series, Paul Dini, the game features Joker and "an army" of other supervillains, and is currently scheduled for 2009.
