WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011 will empower players more than ever to define their gameplay experiences in a dynamic and ever-changing WWE. In WWE Universe Mode, a new addition to the franchise, gameplay scenarios will change based on player decisions, allowing for new rivalries, alliances, championship matches and more spontaneous WWE action in and out of the ring. Additionally, the popular, story-driven Road to WrestleManiamode will return with significant updates and new storylines, including the ability to freely roam through locker room areas, select opponents, break into impromptu matches and fulfill destinies based on player choices.

A hallmark of the franchise, WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011 will deliver its largest offering to date of best-in-class creation and customization features. Players will have more creative tools than ever to customize their created Superstars, finishing moves, story designs, paint tool creations and more. Searching and sharing content will be greatly simplified through improvements to the highly regarded WWE Community Creations feature, which generated nearly 10 million downloads in its franchise debut.

WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011 will also boast one of the largest rosters in franchise history with more than 70 of today’s prominent WWE Superstars and WWE Divas. Each in-game model will feature new skin textures and movement technology, delivering the most authentic looking and moving WWE Superstars and WWE Divas ever seen in a WWE videogame. In addition, players will round out their virtual WWE experience with more than 100 match types, including Tables, Ladders & Chairs (TLC), Hell in a Cell and Money in the Bank, as well as an extensive number of new playable arenas. A brand new physics system will ensure all matches and object interactions look and feel unique, dynamic and unpredictable to capture the full essence and authenticity of WWE.

With this year's Road to WrestleMania mode, players will truly feel what it’s like to live the life of a WWE Superstar as they deal with the choices and realities of a backstage environment with more freedom and player choice.  Along the way, players will form alliances or make enemies backstage that impact the Road to WrestleMania journey.  They can choose to play as one of five different WWE Superstars and experience their unique stories like never before.  In addition, they will solve puzzles, complete challenges, uncover hidden items and unlock both WWE Superstars and historic WWE Legends of the past.  There is always a twist in the story, and it’s all up to your decisions.  This all awaits you in Road to WrestleMania.

This year’s Road to WrestleMania storylines feature the following WWE Superstars:

  • Undertaker – play in a “versus” mode against the Undertaker utilizing John Morrison, Kofi Kingston, R-Truth, Dolph Ziggler or a created Superstar
  • Christian
  • Chris Jericho
  • Rey Mysterio
  • John Cena

What would Road to WrestleMania be without the dramatic qualities that only can be delivered through WWE programming?  This year, in Road to WrestleMania, players will experience a living, breathing world around them on their journey.  Whether it’s the drive to a different arena every week, can’t-miss cut scenes or live interviews taking place, players will be virtually given everything WWE has to offer to its viewing audience.  Each year, our development team works very closely with the WWE production team to ensure the presentation we deliver is as authentic as possible.

Throughout a WWE Superstar’s Road to WrestleMania, players are given multiple choices that will affect the “road” they take to the top.  In an RPG-like fashion, players are given “Superstar Points” from matches they play.  Players must spend these points in the training room to boost their attribute ratings, meaning the desire to max out all ratings is not an option.  Players must choose which attributes they upgrade depending on their chosen WWE Superstar and playing style.

From the drive up to the arena to the ring entrance, players will feel like they are their chosen WWE Superstar.  All throughout Road to WrestleMania, the feature puts the player in different third and first-person perspectives to show they are not watching a storyline play out, but are rather controlling their Road to WrestleMania!
