Good Old Games Adds 'Return to Zork' And 'Space Rangers 2'

by Rainier on Feb. 4, 2011 @ 4:28 a.m. PST

GOG.com has signed a digital distribution agreement with Infocom / Activision, expanding its catalog with his classic adventure game Return to Zork, priced at $5.99, as well as Elemental Games' Space Rangers 2, both Win7/Vista compatible, and DRM free.

Return to Zork ($5.99)

The very first Zork game that transformed the series from text based titles into a fully graphical adventure game. This change made the game a lot easier to get into. Return to Zork is a first-person perspective game like Myst and features a lot of FMV sequences with real actors. The game itself is like the previous titles from the series featuring great puzzles, compelling story and the omnipresent sarcastic humor. So "want some Zork? 'Course ya do!".

Space Rangers 2: Dominators ($9.99)

It's one of the hidden gems we enjoy bringing back, so more gamers can enjoy them. A fun mix of RTS, RPG and action game is no way to get classified in the normal genres we're used to. In Space Rangers 2, among others, you have a 2D space shooter, 3D real-time strategy, third person shooter, RPG-like character development and economy game in one! The game is open-ended, so it's totally up to the player if he wants to get involved into the great war and become a hero or get rich as a merchant or a space pirate.

Last but not least I'd like to give you a heads up about the weekend promo we're having for all games from Apogee catalogue. Yes, this includes the awesome Duke Nukem 3D, as well as Rise of the Triad and the adventures of Blake Stone. From tomorrow until Monday, February 7 at 11:59 p.m. EDT (that's Tuesday, February 8 at 5:59 a.m. CET), we'll be giving up to 50% discount on those titles - you'll get 50% off if you buy all games from the pack or complete your collection of Apogee titles at GOG. If you want to get your hands on selected titles, we're offering 20% off on those.
