'Hitman: Absolution' to be Free via Xbox Live Games with Gold in April

by Adam Pavlacka on March 30, 2014 @ 6:55 p.m. PDT

Hitman: Absolution follows Agent 47, a cold-blooded assassin, who takes on his most dangerous contract to date. Betrayed by those he once trusted — and now hunted by the police — he suddenly finds himself at the center of a dark conspiracy and must embark on a personal journey through a corrupt and twisted world.

Originally released on November 20, 2012, the game is the latest entry in the Hitman franchise. Reviews on the game were mixed, including amongst our reviewers. Reggie, who reviewed it on the Xbox 360 for us, gave the game a 7.0/10. Brian, who reviewed it on the PlayStation 3 for us, gave the game a 8.5/10. The Metacritic aggregate score for Hitman: Absolution is 79/100.

Current price on Hitman: Absolution is $19.99. As soon as the promotion goes live, the price will drop to $0.00 for anyone with an active Xbox Live Gold subscription. 48-hour and 14-day trial subscriptions do not qualify for the free game.

You will be able to get the free game directly on your Xbox 360 console or via the Xbox.com marketplace.

Check back later this week for news on April's other Games with Gold selection.
