Xbox One X Kicks Off Global Pre-Orders, Gets Scorpio Edition

by Rainier on Aug. 20, 2017 @ 3:24 p.m. PDT

Xbox One X was designed to be the best console to create and play games on, putting the greatest graphic fidelity in the hands of the world’s best game creators to create true 4K games.

The smallest console Xbox has ever built, Xbox One X was designed to be the best console to create and play games on, putting the greatest graphic fidelity in the hands of the world’s best game creators to create true 4K games, while all Xbox One games and accessories are compatible.

Head of Xbox Phil Spencer underscored that every game will play great across the Xbox One family, and Xbox One X also makes your existing library even better. Built-in supersampling means more visible detail and smoother edges, and you’ll get into the action faster with more efficient loading times. With the 6-teraflop Scorpio engine, developers can realize their biggest worlds in vibrant 4K and in a superior format for 1080p screens.

During Xbox @ gamescom Live, Microsoft announced global pre-orders for Xbox One X start today.

Over 100 new and existing Xbox One titles will be enhanced for Xbox One X to take advantage of the world’s most powerful console including Halo 5, NBA 2K18, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, ReCore: Definitive Edition, FIFA 18, Star Wars Battlefront II, Below and remastered versions of Disneyland Adventures, Rush: A Disney-Pixar Adventure and Zoo Tycoon.

The Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition designed for fans who want to be the first to experience the world’s most powerful console – and it’s available for pre-order now for $499 USD until supplies run out.

When we announced Project Scorpio last year, we were overwhelmed by the excitement from our fans. And although we revealed Project Scorpio as Xbox One X at E3 earlier this year, the codename will live on in the Scorpio Engine that powers the console, as well as in this limited edition console. We designed the Project Scorpio Edition for fans to celebrate both our heritage and the power and precision that we are bringing into our future.

The Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition features a custom design with the words “Project Scorpio” printed on the console and the controller and we’ve incorporated a sophisticated and dynamic graphic pattern across the exterior. Fans who have been with us since the very start of Xbox will notice the packaging is inspired by the original Xbox. The Project Scorpio Edition also comes with an exclusive vertical stand so you can choose how to display it in your home.

We’ll only have a limited number of Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition consoles, and they will only be available as part of this pre-order. Get them now before they’re gone forever by pre-ordering from your local retailer, including Microsoft Store or Microsoft.com.

We’re thrilled to announce that we’re expanding Xbox Design Lab to over 20 additional European countries starting August 22, 2017.  This extends Xbox Design Lab beyond United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, United Kingdom, France and Germany.  On August 22, fans living in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, and Sweden will be able to order their custom controllers online through local-language websites.  In addition, the European Union websites above will enable shipping to Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Romania, Slovakia, and Slovenia.

Xbox One is the only console system designed to play the best games of the past, present and future. The Xbox One games and accessories you already own are compatible with Xbox One X, so if you’re an Xbox gamer, chances are you already have a library of games that will look and play better on Xbox One X.

Xbox One X is built for true 4K gaming, which combines 2160p frame buffers, High Dynamic Range and Wide Color Gamut into a pristine visual package. It also offers an immersive audio experience that puts you in the center of spatial sound. Your 4K experience includes recording game clips in 4K at 60 frames per second and 4K screenshots. At launch, we’ll be offering Xbox One X Enhanced versions of existing Xbox One games including Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 3, Minecraft, Resident Evil 7, Final Fantasy 15, Rocket League, each upgraded to take advantage of Xbox One X’s additional performance. In addition, some of this year’s biggest blockbuster will be launching in true 4K including Forza Motorsport 7.

With 40% more power than any other console, experience immersive true 4K gaming when paired with a 4K display, such as Samsung’s flagship QLED TV.  Xbox One X makes your existing library even better, with better textures, smoother framerates and faster load times, even on a 1080p TV.

Xbox One X also offers the ultimate 4K entertainment package with 4K Ultra HD for Blu-ray X and streamed content, HDR support for gaming and video, and Dolby Atmos support. le.

Like the Xbox One S, it includes a 4K UHD Blu-ray player, built-in power supply, three USB 3.0 ports (one in the front and two in the back), and IR blaster. It can be placed horizontally or vertically with an optional stand. For those who already own an Xbox One S, all the cables you own will transfer over, with port locations designed to be an easy plug-and-play swap in your existing gaming setup.

Xbox One X begins rolling out to all Xbox One markets starting on Nov. 7 for $499, 449 pounds, 499 euros, CA$599 and AU$649.
