'Project CARS 2' (ALL) Celebrates Porsche's 70 Anniversary With Upcoming Car Pack - Screens

by Rainier on Feb. 9, 2018 @ 7:53 a.m. PST

Project CARS 2 aims to include the largest track roster ever with 50 unique locations and over 200 playable tracks – and introduces ‘loose surface’ racing with dirt, gravel, mud, and snow courses.

Project CARS 2 features an expanded roster of over 170 cars and 60+ tracks, brand-new fan-requested Online Championships game mode, and additional racing disciplines – including ice, dirt, snow, and mud racing – over its critically acclaimed, ground-breaking predecessor (Project CARS). All of this racing action can be presented at up to 12K resolution graphics (achieved through linking three 4K PC monitors together to present a panoramic driver’s view) with VR support, making Project CARS 2 the most immersive and technically advanced racing simulation experience.

Passion for motorsport is embodied in the fan-requested multi-class racing that allows drivers to compete in a field of multiple car classes which replicates the world’s most famous endurance racing championships, past and present. Whether its iconic cars from the golden age of sportscars, modern prototypes, or GT3, all classes of car can now race together in either single or championship mode as Project CARS 2 scores the driver’s position not just overall, but also in-class.

Capturing all the thrills of motorsport means drivers competing in any car, anytime, anywhere, off- and-online, against both in-class competitors and other classes too.

Feel the adrenaline rush as you close-in fast on a GT race car in the coldness of night at Le Mans in your Le Mans Prototype; scan your mirrors on a wet day at the Nürburgring as a Porsche 911 GT3 R monster bursts from the fog and cuts past your Renault Clio as if you were standing still. This is motorsport in Project CARS 2.

Celebrating Porsche’s 70th anniversary from their very first road car, the Porsche 356 joins Project CARS 2 in the ‘Porsche Legends Pack’ which will be available across all platforms early March.

The ‘Porsche Legends Pack’ will include:

  • Nine legendary cars
  • One FIA-certified track
  • Twenty liveries
  • Nine community events
  • Five new careers

The pack has been handpicked and carefully crafted from the storied history of Porsche to integrate this experience to Project CARS 2. The nine iconic Porsche cars include their current GT-runner the ‘2017 Porsche 911 RSR’ adding to Project CARS 2’s GT racers. The 911 RSR will join eight more historically significant Porsches handpicked from the last 70 years such as the 1972 Porsche 917/10. The 917/10, dubbed the “Can-Am Killer”, is an analogue monster whose 5-litre flat-12 boxer was mated to two massive big-box turbos to create what many consider the most brutal car (1,200bhp!) in sports car history.

Ahead of the ‘Porsche Legends Pack’, Slightly Mad Studios have released ‘Update 4’ on PC for Project CARS 2 which will be available imminently on Xbox One and PS4.  ‘Update 4’ includes:

  • Numerous performance and stability improvements
  • Gameplay balance tweaking
  • UI and render enhancements
  • Extensive AI improvements across many locations and vehicle classes.
