Form or join a Posse to ride with up to seven players; gather around the fire at your Camp; head out hunting or fishing; visit bustling towns; battle enemy gangs and attack their hideouts; hunt for treasure; take on missions and interact with familiar characters from across the five states; or fight against other outlaws in both spontaneous skirmishes and pitched set-piece battles; compete with other players or whole Posses in open world challenges and much more.

A scary new addition to Red Dead Online’s Showdown Modes debuts this week with Fear of the Dark, which features teams of supernaturally powerful Night Stalkers battling against mortal Hunters, with bonus payouts of 3X Gold and 2X RDO$ with a variant of the FreakMask given free to all players that win a round.

Bounty Boards have also been updated with the latest Legendary Bounty, Tobin Winfield, the disgraced politician last seen around Thieves’ Landing, along with new clothing additions, such as the Tobacco Hat, to the Wheeler, Rawson & Co. Catalogue, and a new Weekly Collectible List, the Veteran’s Collection, now available for all Collectors to pursue.

New Fear of the Dark Mode

Fear of the Dark is a terrifying new limited-time addition to Red Dead Online Showdown Modes pitting supernaturally fast, tough and strong Night Stalkers against mere mortal Hunter counterparts. The Night Stalkers' powers, however, are tied to the skull masks strewn about their stomping grounds. The more masks the Hunters get their hands on, the weaker the Night Stalkers become, while the Hunters' own weapons grow stronger.

Hunters can only succeed in this new mode by collecting all of the masks and killing all remaining Night Stalkers. Night Stalkers can win by either wiping out the Hunters or surviving until the time limit expires.

Play Fear of the Dark now through November 12th in Red Dead Online. And to sweeten the deal, the entire Fear of the Dark series pays out a hearty 3X Gold and 2X RDO$ through November 3rd.

Legendary Bounty: Tobin Winfield

Is there anything more abhorrent than a corrupt politician? While serving in office, the former mayor Tobin Winfield squirreled away public monies for years. Now he’s disgraced and in hiding, wanted for larceny and embezzlement. This crooked official was last seen around Thieves' Landing.
