In Granblue Fantasy: Versus is a new fighting game where power, skill, and spirit collide in a quest to find the true champion of the ring.

Expect a new era of anime fighting games, featuring anime-amazing visuals, cutting-edge sound, and an all-new game system designed to appeal to fighting game veterans and novices alike.

Designed to appeal to fighting game novices and veterans alike, it marries the characters, artwork, and story from one of Japan’s most fervently loved RPGs with a classic beat ‘em up design courtesy of one of the world’s greatest fighting game developers. With characters from the original Granblue Fantasy series, such as Gran, Katalina, and Lancelot, the game will be a must-have for existing fans, while providing a new way for western gamers to experience the series for the first time.

Each character will boast a full suite of special moves based on their abilities from the original game and while Versus will maintain the beautiful visual design of the original series, it will also introduce a host of new features that will usher in a new era for fighting games.

In Granblue Fantasy: Versus, power, skill, and spirit collide in a quest to find the true champion of the ring. Players can take on AI opponents or fight against human opponents in local or online two-player matches. Five characters will be available in the playable demo, starting with Gran, the protagonist of Granblue Fantasy, who travels the skies with his winged companion Vyrn and a mysterious girl, Lyria, who saved his life. Other characters include Katalina, an ex-imperial knight sworn to protect those she holds dear; Charlotta, the virtuous captain of the Lumiel Order of Holy Knights; Lancelot, a dual-wielding master swordsman; Ferry, a ghost with a whip and spectral pets; and Percival, the ‘Lord of Flames’ who wields a blazing longsword.

The PC release will include graphical customization options, support for gamepads as well as keyboard and mouse, both Japanese and English voice options, and text language options including English, Japanese, French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish, with Traditional and Simplified Chinese and Korean being added at a later date.

Pricing for the PC editions are as follows: “Character Pass Set” will be available for $79.99 and the standard edition will be $59.99.

Granblue Fantasy: Versus on PC will not include any digital purchase bonus goods for the original Granblue Fantasy game.

Granblue Fantasy: Versus will also include an RPG mode that features an all-new, original story told through beautifully rendered cutscenes. Featuring deep action RPG gameplay, in this mode players take on waves of enemies and formidable Primal Beasts solo or by teaming up with a friend in local or online co-op. Along the way, they’ll develop their fighters with a comprehensive character and weapon upgrade system recognizable to all Granblue Fantasy fans. The mysterious “hooded figure” (a.k.a the “Chaos Bringer”) featured in Granblue Fantasy’s popular “What Makes the Sky Blue” series of events, was revealed at Granblue Fantasy Fes 2019 as the final boss for RPG mode. His true name will be revealed in the game.

Chaos Bringer will be unlockable as a playable character by completing the RPG mode or by purchasing the season 1 DLC. The season 1 DLC will also include playable characters Narmaya, Soriz, Djeeta, and a fifth character to be revealed.

The PS4 physical Premium Edition has an MSRP of $79.99 and the digital “Character Pass Set” and “Digital Deluxe” special editions will be available on the PlayStation Store for $79.99 and $99.99, respectively, at launch.

Granblue Fantasy: Versus is coming to PS4 in March 3, 2020, and to PC (Steam) on March 13, 2020, for $59.99.
