Playable as female or male, Eivor leads a clan of Norse people across the icy North Sea to flee Norway’s endless war and dwindling resources. In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, nearly every decision you make will have lasting effects throughout the world. Violence won’t be your only tactic for getting what you want; a silver tongue can be as effective as a steel sword when it comes to finding a home for your people. Shifting England’s balance of power and expanding your influence through diplomacy will likely make you more friends than brute force. You wouldn’t be a Viking raider without raids, and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla lets you lead surprise longship attacks to pillage enemy territories for much-needed resources, or launch massive assaults against rival Saxon strongholds. Raids will be more action-packed and brutal than anything Assassin’s Creed has seen before, thanks to a visceral new combat system that lets you bash, dismember, and decapitate your foes. Long time Assassin’s Creed director Ashraf Ismail (he was also ditrector on Assassin’s Creed IV and Assassin’s Creed Origins) today stepped down from the upcoming project after allegations surfaced that he had a year-long affair while lieing about being married.

Ismail made a short statement on twitter before deleting his account.

"I am stepping down from my beloved project to properly deal with the personal issues in my life. The lives of my family and my own are shattered. I am deeply sorry to everyone hurt in this."

"There are hundreds of talented, passionate people striving to build an experience for you that do not deserve to be associated with this. I wish them all the best."

Ubisoft also issued a statement:

"Ishraf Ismail is stepping down from the project to take a leave of absence. The development team is committed to delivering a great game in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.'

The Ubisoft Store-exclusive Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Collector’s Edition will storm the shores this holiday season. With it comes the Ultimate Edition of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, as well as bonus game content and physical collectibles, including a high-end, 30cm-tall figurine depicting the fierce Viking warrior Eivor astride her longship as she leads her clan into battle. Other physical items in the Collector’s Edition include an exclusive Steelbook case, a 5cm statuette of Eivor with his raven and Dane axe, a selected soundtrack CD, and a set of three lithographs.

The Collector’s Edition comes with bonus in-game content as well, including the Season Pass and the Ultimate Pack, which features the Berserker Gear Pack, the Berserker Settlement Pack, the Berserker Longship pack, and a Set of Runes. If you pre-order the Collector’s Edition, you’ll also receive a bonus in-game mission called The Way of the Berserker. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be available on Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Google Stadia and PC in Holiday 2020.
