'Hyper Scape' (ALL) Gets PC/Console Crossplay, Team Deathmatch Party Event, Title Update 4 - Trailer

by Rainier on Jan. 28, 2021 @ 2:30 p.m. PST

Hyper Scape is a free-to-play fast-paced urban battle royale FPS that takes place in the distant future of 2054, where up to 100 Contenders descend upon the virtual city of Neo-Arcadia to engage in action-packed and fast-paced matches to be crowned champion.

Hyper Scape was designed from the ground up as an intense, vertical and fast-paced battle royale experience. Three-player squads and solo players can dive into the futuristic virtual city of Neo- Arcadia to engage in dynamic firefights, quickly transitioning from narrow streets to open rooftops and deadly interiors.

Hyper Scape introduces Hacks, abilities that players can loot in the world the same way they do weapons. Hacks grant offensive and defensive capabilities to suit all playstyles. Laying down a mine, seeking an enemy, protecting the squad with a big wall or turning invisible to sneak up on opponents are just a few examples of the Hacks players can combine and swap effortlessly. All Hacks and weapons can be upgraded through the Fusion mechanic to produce more powerful iterations of the pre-existing item.

Hyper Scape innovates and twists the battle royale formula in many ways, such as the unpredictable Decay which dissolves the map of Neo-Arcadia into different patterns, or the unique Echo mechanic that keeps players active in the battle even when they’re down. At the end of a Hyper Scape match, the climatic showdown phase starts when the Hyper Scape crown spawns on the map. Players have two different ways to claim victory, either by picking up and carrying the crown for 45 seconds or by being the last player or squad standing.

Ubisoft announced Hyper Scape’s Takeshi’s Team Deathmatch (TDM) Party event is now available with exclusive rewards. PC crossplay is also available, starting today. In addition, Hyper Scape’s Title Update 4 is live, adding new cosmetics and improvements to combat and game modes.

Takeshi’s Team Deathmatch Party Event

Running from January 28 to February 9, Takeshi’s Team Deathmatch Party is a limited-time event that invites players to take part in super fast-paced and intense Team Deathmatch battles. Players can earn cosmetic rewards exclusive to the event while completing the following challenges:

  • Play 5 matches in Team Deathmatch: Get exclusive Weapon Skin "CITY POP RIPPER"
  • Win 1 match in Team Deathmatch: Get exclusive Champion Outfit “TAKESHI CITY POP"
  • Win 10 matches in Team Deathmatch: Get exclusive Emote "B-BOY"

Once players complete one or all three dedicated in-game challenges, each corresponding item will be automatically added to their in-game Locker.

PC Crossplay

Starting today, PC crossplay is available, allowing PC players to be placed in the same global matchmaking pool as players on PlayStation and Xbox.

Combat Updates

Title Update 4 has adjusted aim-assist by decreasing bullet magnetism at mid-to-long range for all projectile weapons.

Game Mode Updates

  • Crown Rush Squad and Crown Rush Solo now host a maximum of 60 players per match, with timings for Zone Closing / Decay speeds adapted accordingly.
  • Team Deathmatch: Players now spawn with one gun and one Hack at the start of the mode, with a randomized initial loadout that will apply to all players.
  • Player Comfort: New tiles have been added to the Play portal that display activity level for each playable mode. When matchmaking, players now get an estimated lobby waiting time.
  • Arcadium Squad: Players can now load into the Arcadium training mode as a Squad and use Party chat to communicate with one another. Squad members can also fight and hunt each other across Neo Arcadia.

New Customization Items

Hyper Scape is fun to play and rewarding to watch. Developed in partnership with Twitch, the Hyper Scape Crowncast Twitch extension will entertain viewers by letting them impact the game in real time, creating unprecedented interaction between streamers and their fans. Viewers will also have a real-time impact on the battle by voting on events that affect all contenders within a match, such as low gravity or infinite ammo.

Hyper Scape Season One also includes new customization items through its Battle Pass. This Battle Pass offers a free and a premium track and features 100 tiers of exclusive cosmetic items to unlock during the Season. The premium track of the Battle Pass is available for 950 Bitcrowns, the in-game currency. Players get Bitcrowns by simply playing the game, or by purchasing packs of Bitcrowns with real money on the Ubisoft or first party stores. Similar to the Open Beta, viewers can progress their Battle Pass simply by watching Hyper Scape streams on Twitch with the Hyper Scape Crowncast extension enabled. Additional customization items will be available through the in-game shop.

Hyper Scape is available for PC, Xbox One and PS4, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions to follow at a later time.
