'Dungeons & Dragons Online' Celebrates 15th Anniversary With Special Event, Free Gifts, Rewards And More

by Rainier on Feb. 26, 2021 @ 12:00 a.m. PST

Dungeons & Dragons Online (DDO) is a free-to-play MMORPG with hybrid combat that combines the action of a video game with the familiar stat-system of traditional D&D.

Dungeons & Dragons Online will provide players with the definitive online Dungeons & Dragons experience, complete with dramatic dungeon crawling, terrifying monster combat and challenging puzzles, character advancement and guild-based power struggles.

Adventurers have long traveled to the shrouded continent of Xen'drik to explore ancient ruins and discover the treasures hidden beneath. The bustling frontier city of Stormreach, a cauldron of ambition and secret plots, has grown on the edges of this dark and dangerous continent, safe and secure as the gateway to Xen'drik. But now danger threatens. Few explorers who set out adventuring the lands near Stormreach ever return, and those that do bring back only tales of death and destruction.

Based heavily around Instances, players are kept close to the action at all times with designated roaming areas to cut out the down time. Players can hand-craft their character with flagship D&D races, traits and classes and further progression by completing Instances and utilizing DDO’s unique Reincarnation system. Players take a deep dive into classic Dungeons & Dragons campaigns in the same way as they would the tabletop game.

Standing Stone Games is celebrating the 15th anniversary of their iconic MMO game, Dungeons & Dragons Online (DDO), with new gifts, rewards, and an update to the Anniversary Event available through March 23, 2021.

From now through December 31st, 2021, players can open the DDO Store and redeem code HAPPY15DDO to receive two free gifts:

  • A 15th Anniversary Token that can be used to select a named raid item from certain raids for your character– the token is Bound to Account, while all of the items received are Bound to Character. Players should redeem the coupon on the game world where they wish to receive the item.
  • A free 15th Anniversary cosmetic cloak– the cloak is Bound to Account, and will be delivered to every future character created on that account.

This year's Anniversary Event features updates to bring back old favorites and give players new challenges for those who celebrate (and fight with) a member of the game development team in House Phiarlan.

  • The challenge provides players with Party Favors that can be turned in for great rewards with Tolero outside of the party event.
  • DDO is bringing back all of the House-specific Eberron Cloaks in the rewards list that were given out during a prior anniversary for those who missed it in addition to a new Red Crystal Crown, and a new Dretch Creature Companion.
