'The Elder Scrolls Online' Free Play Event During QuakeCon 2021

by Rainier on Aug. 19, 2021 @ 9:10 a.m. PDT

The Elder Scrolls Online is the first Elder Scrolls game to allow gamers to explore the legendary Elder Scrolls world with others.

Explore a rich, living world with friends or embark upon a solo adventure. Enjoy complete control over how your character looks and plays, from the weapons you wield to the skills you learn – the choices you make will shape your destiny. Welcome to a world without limits.

Battle, craft, steal, siege, or explore, and combine different types of armor, weapons, and abilities to create your own style of play. The choice is yours to make in a persistent, ever-growing Elder Scrolls world.

Discover the secrets of Tamriel as you set off to regain your lost soul and save the world from Oblivion. Experience any story in any part of the world, in whichever order you choose – with others or alone.

Using ZeniMax Online’s Megaserver technology, players will join one connected world with a built in social network that lets them stay up-to-date with everything their friends are doing.

Megaserver technology avoids the hassle of shard selection and makes The Elder Scrolls Online one of the most socially enabled games ever created.  Whether playing alone, or with hundreds of friends, players can develop their own style of play as they embark upon an epic quest across Tamriel.

The Elder Scrolls Online QuakeCon 2021 Free Play Event is now live and runs until Monday, August 30 at 10AM EDT. During the free-play period, anybody on PC/Mac, Xbox consoles (Xbox Live Gold required), PlayStation consoles, and Stadia (Stadia Pro required) can download and play The Elder Scrolls Online for free!

To join over 18 million players and discover this RPG for yourself, simply visit our Free Play page and select your platform. This event gives you access to Morrowind's zone (Vvardenfell) and ESO base game, which includes four of the game’s original classes, 23 unique zones, and countless hours of adventure.

Because the Free Play Event includes the base game, you can begin your Gates of Oblivion adventure with access to the Blackwood Prologue questline. If you’d like to continue your story beyond the Free Play Event, pick up The Elder Scrolls Online Collection: Blackwood from our Buy Now page to get immediate access to the game and previous Chapters.

If you’ve already played ESO during a previous event, you can continue your adventures as normal. Even better, all new ESO accounts created also receive 500 crowns to spend in the in-game Crown Store!

A whole world of adventure awaits during QuakeCon 2021, so visit our Free Play page and get ready to discover the biggest next-gen RPG in the world. Even better, if you’re an Xbox Series X|S or PlayStation 5 player, you’re able to experience the Console Enhanced version of the game for free for the first time ever—now is the time to finally check out The Elder Scrolls Online!

The Elder Scrolls Online is currently available for PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC
