As a team of veteran dwarven space miners, you must go on missions for your corporate overlords and venture into the deepest, most dangerous cave systems of the most hostile planet ever discovered.

Players take up arms as one of four classes of badass dwarven miners, each with their own invaluable set of skills and gear. The Driller, the Engineer, the Scout and the Gunner must work together to survive a relentless onslaught of ravenous aliens and escape the procedurally generated caves with their bounty intact.

Enlisted dwarves will be paired with up to three like-minded brethren and sent on missions to the most hostile planet ever discovered, Hoxxes IV, to mine precious gems and metals. Cooperation is essential to your success and, as an interplanetary mining conglomerate, Deep Rock Galactic depends on its employees to take care of each other.

Coffee Stain Publishing and Ghost Ship Games have revealed the numbers behind Deep Rock Galactic, which launched onto PS5 and PS 4 on January 4th 2022.

Deep Rock Galactic had an successful 2021, which saw the game win multiple awards and achieve new sales milestones, and the introduction of a content-packed free Battle Pass setting the standard for live-service multiplayer. Starting this year off with a bang, the title has more than doubled its player base to 10 million players following its launch onto PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on the 4th January.

A small team of under thirty staff, the team has been blown away by the support and engagement from the PlayStation playerbase. “The server list is absolutely packed with new players, and many players have been reaching out to us directly to tell us how much they love the game. We are receiving a lot of suggestions, feedback, and help tracking down bugs and issues,” commented Soren Lundgaard, CEO of Ghost Ship Games.

Following the launch, the PlayStation community has already supported the team pinpoint early issues, which were fixed within two days of the game going live.

“The way Deep Rock Galactic has always been developed is directly with the community,” Soren continues. “We are a small team, undertaking a huge console launch so it is amazing to have the community working with us every step of the way, and we can’t wait to show off what we are going to give back to them in Season 02 this Spring!”

Deep Rock Galactic is currently available for free throughout January for those with a PlayStation Plus subscription.
