In Let’s School players have the power to control every aspect of their school from initial construction to day-to-day operations. With dozens of different facilities to choose from and hundreds of different teaching apparatus to aid learning, it is up to the player to define what kind of school they want to build and run, with the goal of ensuring every student performs in their exams to secure more funding for the following academic year.
Players really can build their dream school in Let’s School. However even with the best facility in the world, a headteacher’s work is never done as each staff member and pupil has their own interests and motivations which may not gel with your aspirations to climb the schools league table. Choose what associations, sports meetings, morning exercises and other activities are available in-school to enrich or enrage students - all of whom have their own individual preferences and talents. The students’ personalities and relationships should be taken into account to ensure the reputation of the school is maintained - as well as the stress levels of their teachers, of course! There are also dozens of randomly occurring emergencies, contraband and dynamic seasons thrown into the mix, which ensures that no two play sessions will ever feel the same.
Add in wide-ranging customization options, and the engaging story, and we’re just scratching the surface of what takes place in the story-driven campaign which is full of NPCs to meet and off-campus areas to explore.
“Let’s School is a bit of a departure from what the world knows us for, but after being prototyped by our producer Lanka for 18 months everyone at the studio just fell in love with the project”, said Brand Manager Alice Zhou. "Since then the team has grown substantially to a handful of developers and we’re been blown away by what they’ve been able to achieve. Any fans of management sims are going to get a big kick out of this one”
Key Features:
- Build | You play as a principal who has returned to his hometown to rebuild an abandoned alma mater with limited funds. Players are free to plan and build dozens of facilities with different functions and teaching equipment with school grounds expanding and more building options becoming available over time, such as large libraries, gymnasium, and even an observatory.
- Design | Players have freedom to design teaching courses and hire any staff they like. The goal of Let’s School is to ensure students achieve the best exam performance possible, with students who pass with flying colors promoted to higher grades and becoming eligible to study more advanced subjects. Teachers too can also be trained and improved with the goal of making them better, more diverse educators.
- Inspire | Unlike other management sims, players in Let’s School aren’t simply a disembodied hand manipulating proceedings from the shadows. Each headmaster will have to give their entire school a pre-exam speech every week, with players able to choose different dialogue options with the goal of motivating students before they take their tests. Players can also customize their headteacher via the in-game editor to fit a style of their choosing.
- Educate | Each student’s family, pocket money and possessions are different in Let’s School, impacting their consumption and how they get to school. These outliers in addition to each student’s different abilities and personality will affect decisions about admissions, training priorities and performance. Students will also have relationships emerge and evolve organically over time with other students. Players are able to follow each students' journey through their education and even what they achieve post-graduation. No two students are alike in Let’s School, which makes every budding headteacher’s role even harder.
- Manage | Throughout a playthrough any number of different emergencies will emerge to challenge a player’s management abilities, including students skipping class, contraband, campus bullying and lots more. Managing a student body is as varied as it is nuanced.
Let’s School is coming to PC (Steam) in early 2023.
