'Fortnite' Celebrates Star Wars Day With Lightsaber Event, Outfits And More - Trailer

by Rainier on May 3, 2022 @ 10:58 a.m. PDT

Fortnite is an expansive original world that invites players to be creative, resourceful and collaborative, combining building skills and destructible environments with intense PvP combat.

In Fortnite, players and their friends lead a group of Heroes to reclaim and rebuild a homeland that has been left empty by a mysterious darkness only known as “the Storm.”

Players will band together online to explore the world for resources, build extravagant forts, find or build insane weapons and traps as they protect their towns from the strange monsters that emerge during the Storm.

Fortnite Battle Royale is the FREE 100-player PvP mode in Fortnite. One giant map. A battle bus.

The last one standing wins.

Players are in for a stellar Star Wars celebration that you won’t want to miss!

The Force is strong with this one, including you and everyone else dropping into Fortnite! In honor of May the 4th – from a galaxy far, far away – lightsabers, Stormtroopers, and E-11 Blaster Rifles have returned to Fortnite Battle Royale & Zero Build! It’s time to reclaim the Force by wielding lightsabers for yourself!

In addition, Kylo Ren, Rey, Finn, the Imperial Stormtrooper and more Outfits will be making a reappearance in the Fortnite Item Shop starting today until May 17.

May the 4th and then Some: Two Weeks of Fortnite x Star Wars in May 2022!

Star Wars Day is going on in Fortnite, but not just on May the 4th: Star Wars items from years past are unvaulted May 3 until May 17, 2022! Use these items in special Quests to unlock an Empire Banner. Also, every non-Battle Pass Star Wars Outfit that’s been in the Item Shop will return from a galaxy far, far away.

Wield Lightsabers Once Again

Lightsabers are back! Pick up Luke Skywalker’s LightsaberKylo Ren’s Lightsaber, and Mace Windu’s Lightsaber across the Island. What about the blue lightsabers? There are blue ones too, but this time they’re Obi-Wan’s.

Start Blasting

Returning to the Island, the E-11 Blaster Rifle can now be wielded by players! How to find one? Stormtroopers have set up checkpoints in search of Obi-Wan — go to one of these checkpoints and exchange Bars for a Blaster! Also find them in Chests and on the ground.

Empire Accreditation

Speaking of Stormtroopers, go through Stormtrooper training in new Star Wars Quests. Active now until May 17 at 12 AM ET, these Quests will have you confiscate a “landspeeder” (a.k.a. a vehicle), confiscate and use “Jedi contraband” (a.k.a. a lightsaber), and more. Each May the 4th Quest rewards XP, and for completing five, you’ll earn an Empire Banner.

Star Wars Outfits Back in the Shop

Over the course of the Star Wars Day festivities, every non-Battle Pass Star Wars Outfit that’s been in the Item Shop will make an intergalactic comeback:

  • Imperial Stormtrooper
  • Kylo Ren
  • Zorii Bliss
  • Finn
  • Rey
  • Sith Trooper
  • Boba Fett
  • Fennec Shand
  • Krrsantan

May the 4th be with you for almost two whole weeks!
