'The Sims 4' High School Years Expansion Pack Revealed, Coming In July - Trailer

by Rainier on June 30, 2022 @ 2:45 p.m. PDT

The Sims 4 celebrates the heart and soul of the Sims themselves, giving players a deeper connection with the most expressive, surprising and charming Sims ever in this single-player offline experience.

The Sims 4 encourages players to personalize their world with new and intuitive tools while offering them the ability to effortlessly share their creativity with friends and fans.

The Sims 4 brings all new ways to play with life; powerful new creative tools, all-new Sims with enhanced emotion and intelligence, and a gaming experience where players control the mind, body and heart of their Sims to bring their stories to life like never before.

Electronic Arts and Maxis today announced The Sims 4 High School Years Expansion Pack, offering players a chance to carve their own path as they navigate their teenage years. High school is a time of self-discovery, and in High School Years, players can live out their high school dreams as they make the most out of being a teenager, explore their identity, attend high school and test boundaries through choices and growth.

“The Sims 4 High School Years takes players on a journey of growth to tell personal stories of self-discovery and the drama of being a teenager,” said George Pigula, Lead Producer of The Sims 4 High School Years. “Sims will learn to juggle school and extracurricular events, form lifelong friends, and experience big moments like prom. They can even develop their own fashion likes & dislikes with the new Trendi app with clothes designed by Depop sellers. High school is an incredibly formative time, and we wanted to give players the chance to create and customize their own, personalized high school experiences before their Sims reach young adulthood.”

The ability to tell stories – any story – is at the core of what The Sims does. The Sims has a long history of empowering people to discover and express the different versions of themselves, experimenting with the Sims they create, the stories they tell and the worlds they build. In High School Years, players can craft their own enriching experiences in the new world of Copperdale at school, after school and on the weekends. Teen Sims will learn and grow, express themselves and transform their lives throughout the roller coaster of puberty.

For the High School Years Expansion Pack, The Sims collaborated with circular fashion marketplace app Depop: where the next generation comes to discover unique items. Fashion has always been a huge part of self-expression in The Sims, and the collaboration expands on the game’s fashion looks, as teen Sims can create their own sense of style and set trends for others to follow. Sims can purchase clothing items designed by real-world Depop sellers Jeremy Salazar, Sha’an D’Antes, Lapoze McTribouy, Selena Williams and Bella McFadden in-game at the local thrift store and boba hangout, ThrifTea, hype up their looks and earn Simoleons by selling outfits on the new in-game Trendi app – and become a “Simfluencer” in the process

In addition to attending class and joining extracurricular activities at Copperdale High School, Sims can go on a date to remember at Plumbite Pier, or sip a boba while thrifting clothes at ThrifTea. Players can also customize their Sim’s prom experience, from promposal to picking the perfect prom outfit and getting ready for the big event, so Teen Sims can dance the night away with friends. There’s so much to do as a teenager, and so little time before graduation!

The Sims 4 High School Years Expansion Pack is rated T for Teen by the ESRB and will be available on July 28 for PC and Mac via Origin™ and Steam®, PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One systems for $39.99 SRP.

The Sims 4 is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam and Origin).
