'Tetris 99' 30th Maximus Cup Lowers Requirements To Unlock Iconic Themes

by Rainier on Aug. 1, 2022 @ 11:00 p.m. PDT

In large-scale, 99-player battles, it’ll take speed, skill, and strategy to knock out the competition and become the last player standing.

You can target opponents by sending them Garbage Blocks, but be careful… Your rivals can target you back! Defeat opponents to acquire K.O. Badges that may give you the advantage on future attacks. Nintendo Switch Online members can also look forward to upcoming online events!

Tetris 99 features online competitive modes exclusive to Nintendo Switch Online members. Owners of the digital version of the game can purchase the optional Big Block DLC, which adds several offline modes, like CPU Battle and Local Arena.

Throughout dozens of Maximus Cup events, Tetris 99 players have entered the competition with steely looks of determination in their eyes, with their hearts and hopes set on unlocking themes from some of their favorite Nintendo franchises.
