'Final Fantasy XIV Online' v6.2: Buried Memory Update Planned For Later This Month, Reveals More Details - Trailer

by Rainier on Aug. 12, 2022 @ 5:50 p.m. PDT

Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker features the climax of the Hydaelyn and Zodiark story, in which Warriors of Light will encounter an even greater calamity than ever before as they travel to the far reaches of Hydaelyn and even to the moon.

Eorzea, an awe-inspiring land of endless possibilities. Whether you choose to battle fierce creatures in the wilderness, fashion the ultimate blade in the forge, or swap tall tales in the local tavern, the history of Final Fantasy XIV will be shaped by your actions. Choose from an exotic variety of races, looks and classes to fashion your hero. Change classes simply by equipping a different weapon or tool and tackle an ever-changing assortment of level quests alone or with friends.

In addition to bringing the long-running story arc that began with A Realm Reborn to its conclusion, Endwalker will mark a new beginning for the MMO, setting the stage for new adventures that longtime fans and new players can enjoy together. The new expansion will bring an abundance of new features, including multiple new jobs, an increased level cap, vast new areas, updates to the battle system, a variety of new challenges to overcome, as well as crafter and gatherer content.

The age of adventure has begun.

Square Enix announced Final Fantasy XIV Online Patch 6.2, Buried Memory, will launch on August 23, 2022.

The news was accompanied by a new trailer and information on the latest chapter of the title, which includes fresh battle challenges and the highly anticipated Island Sanctuary.

Island Sanctuary

During the broadcast, Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida offered viewers a demonstration of Island Sanctuary, a new type of casual solo content which allows players to build and customize their own personal farm on a deserted island by gathering materials, building facilities, caring for creatures, and more, without the need for prior crafting or gathering experience.

Additional details on Patch 6.2 were discussed, including PvP updates, Pandæmonium: Abyssos, and more.

An overview of content that players can look forward to in Patch 6.2 is included below:
