'The Texas Chain Saw Massacre' To Get Nicotero Leatherface and Cosmetics DLC Next Week

by Rainier on Oct. 20, 2023 @ 1:15 p.m. PDT

Based on the groundbreaking 1974 film, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is an asymmetrical multiplayer horror experience.

Take on the role of one of the notorious Slaughter family, or their victims, in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, a third-person asymmetrical horror experience based on the groundbreaking and iconic 1974 horror film.

As a victim you must use your wits and stealth to stay out of the Family's reach and find the tools you need to lead to your eventual freedom. Slaughter Family players must seek out, track down, and stop their guests from escaping. Players of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre can finally find out if they have what it takes to survive.

Experience the mad and macabre for yourself in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

Gun Interactive and Sumo Nottingham are proud to present Nicotero Leatherface as the newest addition to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, allowing players can enjoy a new take on Leatherface featuring a new saw design, a new saw sound, and a universal kill that can be equipped to any Leatherface.

Greg Nicotero is an icon of horror and a master of his craft, making his first foray into the gaming industry with his collaboration with Gun and Sumo. Starting his journey as a special makeup effects artist on Day of the Dead, Nicotero has brought to life true terror and realism throughout his influential career. He has not only dominated but also innovated and pushed the horror genre into a realm of realism where his work sticks with you long after a film has faded to black.

Nicotero Leatherface will not be the only purchasable DLC available. There are six different cosmetic packs for players to choose from. With the Slaughter Family Bloody Skins pack, players can choose between Leatherface, Hitchhiker, Cook, Johnny, or Sissy while covered in the blood of their victims. Likewise, each Victim will have a dedicated outfit  pack with one new outfit and six color swaps. Outfits of note will be Connie in a brand new strawberry t-shirt, Sonny with authentic 70’s short sleeve button-ups, and Julie with matching two-piece tops and bell bottoms. There will also be an Outfit Pack Bundle featuring all 5 Victim Outfit Packs for $19.99 USD.

Nicotero Leatherface, The Slaughter Family Bloody Skins Pack, and individual Victim Outfit packs + bundle will release on October 24th, pricing starting at $4.99 USD.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre features an entirely new soundtrack overseen by composer and lead sound designer Ross Tregenza that channels Wayne Bell’s trailblazing sound design for the 1974 film, as well as an additional album, Remains, featuring music written and performed by Jim Bonney and Gun CEO and President Wes Keltner.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam) at $39.99 USD.
