Darkest Dungeon II will test your mettle and drive you to the brink of madness.

Armor yourself with purpose and provision your party for the journey ahead. It will be arduous.

Darkest Dungeon II is a loving interpretation of the game’s signature style in 3D, with hand-drawn textures, bringing more life to the characters and amp up the fx, while preserving the classic DD combat presentation.

The basic configuration of 4 heroes/4 monsters and two trinkets per hero is still true, but there have been significant changes to the base mechanics, stats, and so on.

Red Hook Studios are excited to announce today that Darkest Dungeon II, their grim turn-based roadtrip RPG, will complete its Early Access (Epic Games Store) and release in 1.0 on Steam and Epic Games Store on May 8th. 

A free demo will be made available to the public starting today on Epic and Steam for the duration of Steam Next Fest. 

The demo will allow players to take the four starting heroes through one full region, challenging them to contend with distinct enemy factions and the rigours of survival. Players will be able to explore either Sprawl (city) or the Foetor (farms).  No progression will be saved between expeditions in the demo. The full version of the game will feature a dozen playable heroes, five full regions, five end bosses, and a metagame hub with extensive persistent upgrades.

Darkest Dungeon II released in Early Access (Epic Games Store) in October 2021 and has seen a regular cadence of major content updates since. Up until its 1.0 release, Red Hook still has a few significant updates up their sleeves, with one coming out very soon.

Darkest Dungeon II will once again be narrated by Wayne June, while music is being composed by Darkest Dungeon 1's Stuart Chatwood.

Darkest Dungeon II is coming to PC (Steam / Epic Games Store) on March 8, 2023, with console launch to follow at a later time.
