Boundary is a multiplayer tactical space-based shooter puts players in the role of a heavily armed astronaut in space engaging in fierce zero gravity firefights and executing low-gravity operations on orbiting space installations against enemy astronauts and other entities.

Space has provided a new frontier for man to explore and populate as the Earth reaches capacity and natural resources dwindle. The invention of space-elevators make getting up to orbiting facilities both affordable and convenient in this not-too-distant future. Along with this new exploration and life in space, a new breed of scum and villainy emerges as governments, mercenaries, pirates and outlaws are hell bent on plundering the universe of valuable goods to sell on the black market or keep for themselves.

A new breed of criminal enterprise means a new breed of galactic enforcement is required, so specially trained tactical astronauts take the fight to the harsh extremes of space in order to intercept hijackers and criminals with lethal force in interdiction missions.

In Boundary, players will become Astroperators fighting intense 5v5 matches in the zero-gravity of space. Navigating flying debris in the vast expanse of space and detecting enemy assaults from all angles await players in Boundary. At launch, Boundary will include four multiplayer modes including Team Deathmatch, Facility capture, Orbital purge, Skirmish. As an FPS game, the fast and agile shooter will focus on 5v5 and 3v3 matches where fierce zero gravity firefights will take place in 8 different multiplayer maps.

Skystone Games and Surgical Scalpels released a host of new content into Boundary, avaialble through Steam Early Access.

With a new map, codenamed "Dusty", a brand new shotgun weapon, and a time-limited rendition of the Invasion game mode. In addition, a host of balance changes have been made.

In addition, Boundary is currently on sale for 20% off, during Steam's Summer Sale.

Dear Astroperators, thank you for your continuing support of our Early Access launch! There will be an update on June 29th @ Midnight PST which will require an approximately 2-hour downtime. Please be sure to log out prior to maintenance to avoid any potential complications!

Thank you all for your support!

GENERAL

  • Further optimized matchmaking systems to match players of similar skill levels
  • Players will now be prompted to select a Server Region if they haven't done so already

WEAPON

  • Added the JUG-12 Shotgun. The JUG-12 is an automatic shotgun for Astroperator Doc, featuring high damage but with one heck of a kick.

GAME MODE

A new limited game mode has been added that will give players a much different experience than normal game modes.

  • The rule set is based around the Invasion Game Mode but with additional respawn time as well as capture time. There will be multiple objective points that the defending team has to protect, will the attacking side has to capture as many as possible. After one set of objectives is captured, a new set will become available.
  • Players will no longer be equipped with a jetpack. Player movement will be more strategic as multi-directional jumping and gun recoil play a much bigger role. Directional jumping can be activated by double tapping W (forward), S (backwards), SPACE (vertical up), or CTRL (vertical down).
  • Climbing along surface objects will help players avoid being sent off into the depths of space.
  • Gun recoil and the new speed indicator will help players maneuver around the battlefield in short bursts. Careful not to shoot yourself off into space though!
  • You can still use the grappling hook, it's incredibly effective and the best way at moving around the map quickly.

There will be 3 customized Astroperators for this game mode.

Support

  • Can use machine guns to help suppress enemies or to mow down anyone that dares to risk advancing.
  • Can deploy a static shield that will block incoming fire for a limited time, or deploy their own personal shield to advance against the defending team.

Recon

  • Can use sniper rifles to deliver high damage from long ranges, staying hidden from enemy fire.
  • Can use a snapshot sensors to detect enemies, while HIVE pods keep enemies hidden in cover to avoid death.

Assault

  • Uses assault rifles to defeat enemies from close range.
  • Can use Smoke Launchers to cover their advance or help flank an enemy position, EMP launchers to gain an opening to exploit, or the good old Grenade Launcher to clear out enemies.

MAP

  • Added the new map "Dusty" which is a complex and constantly changing astroid field, giving a new experience each match.

BUG FIXES

  • Fixed an issue that caused some missions to display repeatedly in the end of match menus.
  • Fixed an issue when using ADS that caused firing and aiming behaviors to act abnormally.

With a whole host of customization options for players to choose from, Boundary aims to provide a tailor made approach to loadouts, space suits and tactical space warfare. Weapons range from machine pistols to converted assault rifles and more powerful sniper rifles, all of which utilize a modular upgrade system to mix and match at the player’s preference. Players can also customize individual weapons using a huge range of available components including optical sights, muzzles, stocks, barrels and foregrips.

Players will have six classes to choose from in Boundary and a wide range of fully customizable space weaponry. Players will have full tactical control over their weapon magazines in Boundary, being able to utilize different types of ammunition and create customized magazine configurations. Alternating armor penetrating rounds and electromagnetic pulse rounds, to pierce through enemy space suits and scramble their equipment is just one of many lethal combinations Astroperators can create.

Helping players maneuver through space will be their EMU suit. Players can modify EMU suits by adding offensive measures and defensive weapons as well as choosing between light, medium, and heavy packs. From their class to weapons, ammunition and EMUs players will be able to create tailor-made loadouts in Boundary for ultimate control of their tactics. Equipped with external pylons, these mobility units can attach a variety of ordinance in the form of radar guided rockets, EMP grenades and defensive countermeasures.

Ammunition types also have a tactical role to play in Boundary, and players can configure a mixture of ammunition types in their weapons. Lethality can be increased by mixing armor piercing rounds with explosive rounds and EMP rounds, causing catastrophic damage and affecting an enemy’s ability to respond.

Key Features:
