We know how passionate you are about Borderlands, and it’s been a blast to bring you the first year of post-launch content for Borderlands 4, including two Story Packs, five Bounty Packs, two new Vault Hunters, and a number of new features and activities. You are why we get up everyday and handcraft the mayhem. Your joy and happiness and surprise and delight - your entertainment - is our purpose, our mission, and the sole reason why we’re here. And you step up in incredible ways. Starting November 6th, Borderlands players will be participating in The Hunt. Earlier this year, this long-standing community fundraising event generated a record-breaking $118,995.80 USD to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in its mission to treat and cure childhood diseases. This time, we have a challenge for you: 2K Foundations, the driving force behind 2K’s social impact, and Gearbox will match every dollar donated to The Hunt up to last year’s record amount, potentially raising more than $230,000 for St. Jude. So get in there and donate!

And we've got some other pretty big news: the Borderlands franchise has officially crossed 100 million units sold! There aren't many franchises that have ever hit that milestone, and we certainly didn't get here on our own. For us, it started with that first Borderlands in 2009, and we’ve been excited about everyone who has joined us in the Borderlands along the way.

The most recent addition to this storied franchise, Borderlands 4, was released just over a year ago with a wealth of content introduced in its first 12 months, and, now with the conclusion of the Year 1 roadmap, Gearbox’s development team is hard at work on even more Borderlands 4 content for players in 2027. Additions over the past year include:

• Two Story Packs;
• Five Bounty Packs;
• Two new Vault Hunters;
• Two free Raid Boss encounters and “Takedown” endgame raid;
• A slew of additional features, quality of life updates, optimizations, and activities.

Moving forward, Weekly Activity refreshes and Community Challenges will continue. The team is constantly listening to community feedback, and they are exploring additional character arcs, storylines, and an exciting overall direction for the future of the franchise. Players are encouraged to share thoughts on social media and tune into the Gearbox Devcast.
